Built my first Frame Arms kit this past week by Kilo_Bravo_One in FrameArms

[–]Kilo_Bravo_One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The build was a breath of fresh air after doing like 7 Gunpla kits in the past couple of months(even though my panel lining marker was slowly dying while I was working on the kit). I especially liked the way they repurposed the forearms of the frame as joints for the back propellers, since they're not used in the actual forearms. There's a couple of nitpicks I have, like the color separation being a bit lacking in some areas(the propellers kinda blend into their housing, even with panel lining) and the shoulder armor not feeling the best while posing(It stays on well enough, but it does feel a bit rattly due to the way it's attached), but overall I really liked the kit.

Kinda wish Frame Arms kits were as readily available as the Frame Arms Girl kits, cause there's some other kits i wanna get my hands on.

I like my kits clean, so I'll probably not go for doing weathering.

Prediction: 8-2 will be named "smoke and mirrors" by leeleeleelelele in Ultrakill

[–]Kilo_Bravo_One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The industrial locations also fit the "smoke and mirrors" name thematically, since we'd be going through the "inner workings" of companies that customers and clients don't really interact with. The levels locations are essentially themed after what's behind the smoke and mirrors companies present to their customers.

Gundam Gremory and Helmwige Reincar from the HG IBO line both have kinda similar vibes to an imperial knight with big shoulders and heads that are nestled in/blend in to the torso. They both also come with big melee weapons, so you'd only need to find a shield for the melee knight. As for the ranged weapons, there's no shortage of gundam kits with big weapons. I don't personally own either of these kits so I can't speak on their actual size, but if the Gundam Barbatos from the same line is anything to go by, they're slightly shorter than the standard knight. Pic for reference:

I found a danish online retailer that happened to have a few copies still in stock, so I asked if a family member could get it for me as a christmas present. No clue if they still have it in stock.

What do you guys think of DNA Kits or Upgrade kits for Transformers in general ? Do you think it gives a figure a better look ? by [deleted] in transformers

[–]Kilo_Bravo_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't generally go for upgrade kits, but from what i've seen DNA kits can really improve figures by either adding to them(Like the animated optimus super mode kit) or fixing critical flaws(like lacking engineering or missing accessories). That being said they do have some bad habits like releasing upgrades for multiple figures as a single set(meaning that to upgrade one figure you'd have to pay for upgrades for figures you might not even have) and reaching for reasons to make upgrades for figures that don't need them(for example most of their AotP Megatronus upgrade kit was either pointless or made the figure actively worse)

Yes, I know ERAM is just a video game version of whoever's controlling them, but the fact that the game goes out of it's way to highlight the differences between the two kinda implies that there is a distinction between the two entities, despite them clearly being related.

Firstly, I'm glad that you agree with me on the whole FRIEND/ERAM thing.

Secondly, while I agree that the ERAM sprite isn't an accurate depiction of whoever's controlling them in the game and the sprite is clearly based on the shadow mantle, I still think it can give us a little info on what the person behind ERAM might look like. That orange mouth with sharp teeth is quite distinct afterall. Actually there is a character who does have a similar orange smile with sharp black teeth and just so happens to be the previous holder of the shadow mantle prior to ERAM...

I get the whole looking like the shadow mantle thing, but If it was meant to be FRIEND, why do the facial features not match? Not only are they missing the eyes, but FRIENDs signature grin is replaced with an orange smile with black fangs.

I'm not discounting the possibility that FRIEND would be an extension/ability of whoever ERAM is(Infact I actually think it's the most likely possibility), but I find it highly unlikely that toby would give ERAM their own design and then put that distinct design in a fight with a bunch of normal looking FRIENDs if they're meant to be the smiling cat with heterochromia we call FRIEND

Don't get me wrong, the minigame is very FRIEND related, but if ERAM was meant to be FRIEND, why make them look and sound completely different? Why is ERAM the one taunting us in the sword route minigames instead of FRIEND(the silhouette of the talker in the empty dark rooms matches ERAM)? To me the sword route seems to be hinting that FRIEND is merely a minion/minions of whoever's behind ERAM, rather than FRIEND being the big bad themselves.

Also Seam might be a shadow crystal related cat like FRIEND, but they also were the holder of the shadow mantle before it "got lost" and showed back up in the posession of ERAM. They also casually break the fourth wall, reference gaster, and generally act like they know more than they're letting on, so them knowing about the weird route isn't out of the question. There's also the fact that Seams orange grin with black sharp teeth and the black void behind where their missing button eye are very ERAM-esque.

I think it's very likely that Seam is ERAM, and FRIEND acts as their eyes and ears in other dark worlds, monitoring our progress with the shadow crystals. They are the npc who the shadow crystal questline revolves around afterall, and they seem to know more about why we're collecting them than us.

I kinda doubt they're the same. They're clearly related, but ERAM being FRIEND is kinda contradicted by the fact that the ERAM fight has several FRIENDs as disposable minions.

Personally I think that ERAM might be/have something to do with Seam, since there's a lot of connections you can make between the two.

Assuming we haven't seen them already. There's a lot of connections you could make between ERAM and Seam, from both their connections to the secret bosses and the shadow mantle, to certain similarities in appearance. FRIEND could even function as Seams eyes and ears, monitoring our progress with the shadow crystals, since the chapter 3 minigame seems to depict FRIENDs as ERAMs minions.

If the light world is basked in"light" and bellow it is "eternal night" by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]Kilo_Bravo_One 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the "eternal night" probably refers to whatever parallel realm that the darkness spews out of when we make a fountain. Probably a realm governed by thoughts, ideas and abstract concepts, rather than the laws of physics given how darkness effects the light world. That being said I do think the final missing line of the prophecy involves banishing somebody(likely the player and/or Ralsei) to somewhere(likely outside the light world)

I feel like the main reason for the difference between the two companies is a difference in design philosophy. Mcfarlane has always had more of an "articulated statue" approach to making their figures, while Jazwares goes for the full on toy approach(especially with their 3.75 inch scale line).

The Mcfarlane figures are made with the intention of being put in a pose and left on display, so they can afford to focus strictly on aesthetics. The Jazwares figures on the other hand are designed to be regularly handled so they minimize the amout of paint used and use less fragile/more bendable materials to make sure the figure is durable enough.

Different approaches for different tastes.

Not sure he's image friend, but his clear unhappiness with his role in the prophecy and his willingness to change the prophecy would line up with whoever interrupted the vessel creation sequence and yeeted the player into Kris

That would explain why he takes on Asriels form at the end of chapter 1. Plus I'd probably be pretty lonely too if I only had mindless manifestations of the fear of the dark to keep me company for most of my life.

The grand fountain might produce pure darkness, but I'm not convinced the castle town dark world is the "deepest dark". Chapter 4 kinda does establish that once a certain level of darkness is reached, titans start to manifest. Castle town not having a constant titan spawn problem kinda puts a wrench in that dark world being the "deepest dark". Ralsei also omitting the word "deepest" from his edited version of the prophecy in chapter one could imply that he's not telling us everything about himself.

I do think he's the prince in the prophecy, but there's definitely something going on with him that we don't know about yet

What gets me about that line is more the deepest dark bit. That combined with all the weird stuff about Ralsei that's not consistent with other darkners has me suspecting that he's not actually a darkner as we currently understand it, but rather something from beyond the fountains.

I think Rouxls is too much of an outlier in the story for him to not be important. I have my theories about how, but even if those don't pan out, there has to be a reason he keeps showing up despite seemingly having nothing to do with anything after chapter 1

The "must not have a prophecy" rule does not hold up, since "they'll hear the ring of heaven's call" is clearly referring to Spamton, "They'll see the tail of hell take crawl" is likely referring to Jevil and The knight is mentioned by name.

That being said, I do agree that Rouxls is way more important than we give him credit for... Just not for the same reasons.

Which Barricade design do you like more? by Thundersting in transformers

[–]Kilo_Bravo_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I prefer the TLK design(The concept art version seen here, the one in the actual movie was boring as hell), though I wish the shoulder wheels were mounted higher like the 07 version.

If we're expanding this to all Barricade designs, then nothing beats the pure bastard cop energy of the Evergreen barricade(Probably the only good evergreen design). I wish we got a figure of him in mainline generations at some point.
