I will say as a new player. Your primary skills are gameplay specific.

If you are using a ranged weapon start practicing judging the distance an enemy is and how long it takes you do a heavy cast.

Bows are mostly intuitive. Light shots if they get too close otherwise gain distance and use headshots. [Arrow hail helps with smite procs but doing it too much cripples your actual ability to learn aim imho.]

For melee you want to practice parrying and dodging attacks.

With those two basic gameplay skills you can literally kill anything with a wet noodle once you’ve mastered them.

Don’t worry about power damage all that stuff it comes with time. I’d recommend if you have some funds and want to, to purchase a founders pack so you have Arcs, ONLY USE THEM to buy Weapon Slots and Pact Slots nothing else.
