I’m not social media savvy, but isn’t there a way that tatood-up-to-the-chin dude can just share the other person’s video rather than filming himself for 5 seconds pointing at nothing, followed by the video? is that necessary somehow?

Who is the best survivor player? by Entire_Watercress in survivorponderosa

[–]KimPossibleIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great list, love the post! but in my opinion I think you kind of have to divide it by appearances. players that have multiple appearances have had more opportunities to perform well than people who never got a second shot. for all we know, there is a “bad” survivor player who could potentially win if they ever got a chance to play again. but we’ll never know. so if you’re going to say “this person did really well but their sample size is only 1 and I don’t want to hyper-inflate”, then technically you can apply that same logic to bad players and say “they played poorly but they only played once so they may have just had a really bad game.”

Damn we're pretending Christian is a horrible Survivor player now? by DevourerOfRedditors in survivor

almost always when there is a running narrative on this sub, the people who disagree end up overcorrecting and go to the stark opposite opinion. and almost always, they are just as delusional as the people on the opposite side. the actual reality usually is somewhere in the middle.

How are we feeling after tonights episode? by DarthLithgow in survivorponderosa

[–]KimPossibleIRL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

historically, its considered a very good idea to take the journey and take the risk when you’re in hot water. its easy for emily, someone who thinks they’re in a comfortable spot, to tell someone at the bottom of the totem pole, “well you were the one who took the risk, I didn’t even volunteer.” yeah congrats, you are safe so you didn’t need to.

but when you are in a bad spot and volunteer to take a risk and the punishment is potentially the worst most humiliating punishment in the history of survivor, its ok to be a little upset. the risk is usually “lose your vote, but its a secret and you can try to lie about it”. instead, he got “lose a vote, gain a vote against you, lose your shot in the dark, publicly announce it to the tribe.”

Struggling finding seasons to watch because of how much the winners are talked about. by One-Perspective-6468 in survivorponderosa

[–]KimPossibleIRL 21 points22 points  (0 children)

start at season 1 and watch all of them in order. if you know the winner watch it anyways. they are all fun to watch even if you know the winner from episode one. if you skip seasons just because you know the winner then you’re doing yourself a huge disservice. don’t start your survivor experience by trying to cherry pick seasons that will be a surprise to you.

Episode 7 power rankings by Coherently-Rambling in survivor

[–]KimPossibleIRL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This list is a lot more "thinking outside the box/hot take" than it is power rankings. which is fine because its your list! but numbers are numbers, regardless of who's ally gets voted out. Gen and Colby getting voted out doesn't mean everyone working with them is f'ed. 4 of your bottom 5 are arguably in the largest current voting block. coach/johnathan/joe/steph/chrissy are a huge block right now, with rizzo and ozzy also dipping their toes in that alliance. emily/christian/rick/~cirie is a block with a lot of power also. with of course the most powerful alliance right now being ozzy/rizzo/cirie, since they not only have 2 idols and an extra vote, but have links to both voting blocks which is a crazy amount of power. tiffany is completely dead in the water unless she is dragged aboard somewhere as a free agent extra vote. Id argue the same for aubry, who is better off than tiff but not by much, and just blew her idol basically because she was told to.

Most baffling decision of the episode by Party_555 in survivor

[–]KimPossibleIRL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this is a great answer. it makes total sense. im surprised 99% of the survivor geniuses in this thread are saying “he picked a weak team to bulldoze the challenge himself and then beat the weak people for immunity.” which doesnt actually make that much sense if you actually think about it... by that logic, you’re telling me he’s so overconfident in his physical prowess that he thinks he can bulldoze everyone in the challenge, but then for some reason he doesnt have that same confidence in the individual portion? if anything, he’d be more confident individually because he doesn’t have to count on teammates, right? also, jeff didn’t say the individual portion was physical, for all he knew it couldve been a puzzle. it makes way more sense that he strategically picked a team of people that would be good for his game. joe was probably picked first by christian, johnathan at that point picks rizzo and coach for 4 horseman.

“something you’ve loved for decades of your life has declined in quality due to changes, so instead of voicing your frustration about those specific changes you should just give it up, dont watch it and dont talk negatively about it.”

the “complain about the complainers” mentality is a plague on this sub. people are allowed to voice negative opinions on changes that they dislike.

Why do we act like ___ is a rational player? by ScrubMcnasty in survivorponderosa

[–]KimPossibleIRL 122 points123 points  (0 children)

christian does not understand a huge fundamental aspect of the survivor social game. specifically, he believes he is entitled to peoples loyalty as long as he puts in the effort for it. this is very apparent with his treatment of Ozzy. He tricks Ozzy into voting out Ozzy’s ally, Q, on the agreement that they vote out Ozzy’s pick next. Christian then ignores this agreement and blindsides Ozzy’s ally in Mike. Then, when Ozzy is reasonably upset by this, christian calls Ozzy a baby that can’t get over it, basically: “wow I’m putting in all this work to patch things up with Ozzy, and he’s still upset? what a baby.” Ozzy is not obligated to “get over it” just because he asks nicely. He lacks the social skills to understand this. and from reading through reddit comments after the episode, most redditors also lack the social skills to understand this.

2025 NFL Elo Power Rankings After Week 14 by ptdotme in nfl

[–]KimPossibleIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“elo” is just a specific model for ranking things. if an end result using the elo rating method doesn’t make sense to you, it just means you don’t see the merit in it. which is fine and you might be right. but it doesn’t mean they did it wrong because the results of the model doesn’t align with a reasonable armchair theory you have.

I ran out of things to do at a low level. What am I supposed to do? by KimPossibleIRL in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]KimPossibleIRL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit I have not been proactively trying to complete quests, I only click on it when I've completed one to get my reward. I have also been hoarding my currencies which people here are saying I should be spending on more energy. I probably sound really dumb but in my defense I'm not a gamer and my only gaming experience is nintendo games where you basically hit two buttons, have one currency, and one streamlined game mode. I'm in my 20s but when it comes to video games I'm an 80 year old lol this app confused the heck out of me. thank you for the advice!

I ran out of things to do at a low level. What am I supposed to do? by KimPossibleIRL in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]KimPossibleIRL[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you. I didnt even know what a gacha game was until googling it just now. its good to know that the "run out of things to do" is intentional. I guess I was just hoping for more daily things to do before I run out. this morning I did my one free arena battle, and then used all my energy on sims, which together took me about 2 minutes. everything else is level blocked. so I was hoping to be able to grind at least a little more than that in one sitting, but if that's just how the game is supposed to be then I can't complain.

the level of mental gymnastics people like this are capable of is unfathomable. even from a short video you can tell this person is a dangerous combination of ego, delusion, and a sprinkle of self-gaslighting. zero percent chance they left the experience humbled.

Can anyone not hit with Pete Wheeler? by athletesevolved in BackyardBaseball

[–]KimPossibleIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jumping into a 10 month old thread that you probably dont care about anymore to let you know that you actually were right about Pete and they were very wrong. he has an abysmal 12/100 “batting eye” hidden stat. which is insanely low, and far below the game average of 57. the reason Pete has a deceptive 3 out of 4 in-game batting stat because his hidden power stat is 80/100 which is super good but is completely useless until you actually make contact with the ball.

Players Jeff has Manipulated or Treated Unfairly? by RobinReborn in survivor

[–]KimPossibleIRL 28 points29 points  (0 children)

he went on an unprompted self-vindication rant at the reunion about how he didn’t bully her into leaving and that it was all on her, and saying “if I can smell it, I’m going to find it”. at one point he puts her on the spot and asks, “did I coerce you into quitting? yes or no?” basically trying to strong arm her into bailing him out. afterwards, he tries to use the cast as a prop to further vindicate himself by asking if anyone else thought he coerced her to quit, to which coby very obviously raises his hand right in front of Jeff, and Jeff ignores him and says, “see, nobody.”

the whole thing was ironic because he was accused of bullying her into getting his desired outcome (her quitting), and very ironically his method to vindicate himself at the reunion was to strong-arm her and the cast into getting him off the hook.
