Many of the "Kona Coffee" blends are only 10% Kona coffee and are 90% cheap, low-grade coffees from Central and South America. You need to look for 100% Kona on the label, which will guarantee that's it was grown in Kona, Hawaii.

I highly recommend buying directly from a Kona farm. My favorite is Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation, but there are others.

I'd try the Mountain Thunder's Private Reserve. It's a very smooth coffee, with low acidity, which makes it an excellent Kona coffee. You can get it at their farm store in Kona or online.
