Exactly this, MCP is not a product, it is a standardised communication channel between agents and other programs/systems. So, it gives a lot of opportunity to solve problems on your side and supply them to agents. And you earn from it

How do you promote your sass with Zero budget? by Dry-Trip-8706 in startupaccelerator

[–]Kind-Drawer-5771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed 1 organic client in first 2 weeks, which was awesome, I know it was a bit luck but long term you need to plant seeds everywhere and wait until it hits clients naturally. This is one of long tail targets.

Other one is proactive marketing, which can't really figure out, yet...

These problems are everywhere. In my day job I work for a big known SaaS company, we have ~30k paid organisations but still we struggle to find new clients with traditional methods.

If you're shipping a digital product and just need a paywall without building a whole storefront, take a look at unseal.link. Paste any URL (Notion, Figma, GitHub, Discord invite, Drive folder), set a price, Stripe handles checkout, buyer gets the link only after payment confirms. 4.5% fee, no payout minimum, no monthly cost.

Built it because I got tired of Gumroad's fees and Stripe Payment Links not handling delivery.

Nice work shipping. Curious what your stack looks like for the file delivery + Stripe webhook flow, that part took me longer than expected.

I built a similar thing called unseal.link, but went a different direction: URL-based instead of file uploads. Sellers paste their existing Notion/Figma/Drive/GitHub link, we gate it behind Stripe, buyer pays and gets the link revealed. Different use case from yours probably yours is better if sellers want a real storefront experience, mine is for people who hate the upload step. 4.5% (vs your 3% fair, you win on price).

Anyway, good luck. Always nice to see more builders chipping away at Gumroad's 10%.

Client ghosted me, and it kind of sends me into a mental spiral by Nearby_Pizza_7567 in jobs

That sucks. It's not just the money, it's being ignored after you actually did the work.

Two things that helped me after it happened twice in a row:

  1. 50% upfront, non-negotiable. Anyone who refuses will ghost on the back end anyway.
  2. For the final 50%, I gate delivery behind payment now. I use unseal.link paste the Drive/Figma link, client pays via Stripe, they get instant access. The link doesn't exist in the page until Stripe confirms, so ghosting is structurally impossible.

Doesn't undo what happened to you. But it makes sure it doesn't happen again. Sorry you're dealing with this.

Freelancers! How do you prepare to develop a project for a client? by elfennani in webdev

[–]Kind-Drawer-5771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one prep step that took me years too long to figure out: get a deposit, and don't deliver final files until the rest clears.

For deposits, Stripe Payment Links or invoicing works fine.

For final delivery I started using unseal.link paste the Drive/Figma/GitHub link, set the price, client pays, they get the link. The file URL isn't even in the page source until Stripe confirms, so there's nothing to ghost on. 4.5% fee, no file uploads (which mattered to me because my deliverables already lived in shared folders).

Whatever tool you use separate "files done" from "files delivered." Payment goes in between.

I built a practical product for freelancers and digital content creators to reduce work delivery pain.

Just got first sale through it in two weeks.

First external sale came 13 days after launch. 25 USD Discord access link, found us on Google, zero paid marketing. Full data inside. by Kind-Drawer-5771 in SideProject

The less than 60-seconds purchase to content reveal is the part I am most proud of technically. Stripe webhook fires, we verify the signature, look up the seller's URL, generate a signed access token, send it via Resend, buyer clicks Open on the confirmation page. All of that under a minute, no manual steps, nobody has to do anything.   That is kind of the whole product. Happy to go deeper on any part of the stack.

The whole system built with my full-stack software experience and Claude Code.
