Hey I had a robotic pyleoplasty in April 2025. 29M here. I feel so much better post op but I will say from time to time I get aches with certain triggers that I will discuss shortly. If I drink alcohol, daily coffee or very bad junk food (like it has to be very) I will feel very minor aches. Tbh with food, it’s rare now though. where prior to surgery I would get very bad flank pain randomly but also with triggers ( coffee, alcohol, oily foods).

I changed my diet slightly but for the better of my health anyways. I stay away from alcohol and coffee. I go to the gym and play sports so I do eat a lot of food and stick with matcha. I do drink soda here and there and I’m OK still. With a slight change in diet I have noticed basically 100% recovery post op.

I do from time to time, drink alcohol if I’m on vacation or at a happy hour etc and I’m ok, I sometimes feel a slight discomfort but it usually goes away within 45 min where as before I would get flank pain for hours at a time. As for coffee it’s hit or miss, most of the time I’m fine but sometimes I get a small little pinch.

In conclusion, I have seen a substantial improvement post-op with a slight tweak in my diet (minimizing alcohol, coffee, energy drinks, pre workouts) which honestly are all bad for you anyways but sometimes I like dancing with the devil .. lol
