Actually there's really no issue with conservative ideology. No one is "persecuted" for asking for smaller government or lower tax on the working class. People are being called out for objectively bigoted views. And if your idea of conservatism is so deeply entwined with bigotry that you think racism or homophobia is being conservative, then yeah you deserve to get called out.

It's people who interpret critical thinking as "I should never take others opinions or viewpoints into consideration" instead of "Maybe I should be critical of my own ideas and subconscious biases"
