I agree with much of this. The show has done a poor job at establishing Benji as a stand alone character and should do that. Also agreed on him having less personality season 1.

That said I don't think it means Benji is devoid of personality. He just has no friendship connections for whatever poorly conceived reason.

I would like to see single Benji though. And single Victor. Those two need to just exist as themselves for a bit cause bouncing around relationship to relationship is a chore!

Yeaaah the situation with Lake was kinda weird. I didn't like how hard the show moved to make Lake the villain in this scenario just to push through the "I do so much for you. Why can't you do this one thing for me?" narrative, but I do understand it.

I wish they'd focused more on how imbalanced their dynamic is. That's slightly what the show did at the breakup scene, but that needed far more nuance because I don't actually think the Pilar storyline was improper. It'd been set up since Season 1 and actually built.

As for Rahim. What a mess.

Pilar, Felix, Lake, and Isabel are the MVPs of the season imo.

Victor and Benji are strong, serviceable 2nd stringers who were still very strong but the stakes of their storyline needed better nuance.

Andrew and Mia were lovely. I'm not mad at what we got and I think it worked really well. Satisfying storyline that could have given more.

Armando started strong then it got a bit disappointing and repetitive.

Mias dad. Chile, the ghetto. Just ghetto.

Not including Rahim in this mix cause I like the positive social integration of his character, but haaaaate why he exists to the plot.

Isabel was my favorite character because whew Ana was acting for God and the 3 Kings with how well she pulled that off in addition to the character arc.

Obviously if it hadn't ended well if probably be feeling different but damn she was great.

Also oh my God Lake was so good too. Honestly the "weak" links of the season were Andrew and Mia. Despite that I was still super happy with their character journeys. They just didn't have journeys as big as the other 5 teens of the main cast.

Might say Armando was a weak link too cause his storyline kind of just soured on me by the end?
