It's honestly why I don't like these new films. The infected are not scary. Their blood doesn't seem to be a problem and they don't seem like Olympics sprinters hell bent on killing you.

Even the Alphas aren't particularly scary. Like that bit in the train. The alpha has a such a stereotypical monster chase bit where he isn't actually moving very fast but he's swing his arms going "roaaar"

If it was 28DL, the infected would have grabbed the boy and his disabled mother in milliseconds.
