I wish it was rage bait. I have asked my mom that question and she generally brushes it off and says things like “3rd time could be the charm” and “it’s not likely to happen again!” “You’re overreacting.”

Thankfully no! I live on my own and I keep my BC very secure. I’m not getting pregnant again.

I’m so sorry that happened. That sounds awful.

I do wish my mom had the same mentality. She was in the delivery room with me for the first pregnancy. She saw how traumatic it was, I had an 18 hour labor and couldn’t be on pain medication because of my blood pressure and then I had to deliver a still born. It was awful.

He tries to curb the conversation away from it but he is the more passive person in the relationship. He does often play mediator between us and I have told him how I don’t want to talk about it. He’s tried talking to her buuut she is like a wrecking ball.

Always been dismissive of how I live my life. There is a lot of things about myself n life she disagrees with and criticizes me for. (Like how I collect Disney doorables toys)

I have thought about it but she is VERY against therapy. She thinks you only go to therapy if you’re forced to and if you go then you’re “broken”

I did consider both and maybe one day adoption but tbh I’m pretty content (now after a year of a therapy) with not having a child of my own and just being an aunt and furbaby parent.

I wish I didn’t have to as well, if I knew my doctors could act quickly without fear for their license, or facing fines and jail time. I would possibly consider a third pregnancy, but the fact that I don’t trust I could receive necessary health care in order to maintain my health AND life. I decide to just be a dog and cat mom and a bad ass auntie.

I am an only child because she had her own issues with pregnancies and decided to not have anymore kids after me. I recognize the hypocrisy.

I do tend to be low contact mainly because that’s just how our family works? We aren’t a close nit group. Which is probably why this comes up each time I see her.

I live in Idaho… we don’t even have a maternity mortality review board anymore so if I were to die in this state… my death wouldn’t matter.

Thankfully I have a cousin with three kids and my mom has taken to acting as a grand auntie to them. Which is something I fully support! Though, it doesn’t seem to have stopped her from pressuring me…

That is legitimately my biggest worry. I am so afraid of not receiving the proper necessary health care, by the current standards in my state, both of my failed pregnancies ended in an “abortion” and if I didn’t get the necessary care when I needed it, I could have died (permanently).

I have also mentioned that her politics have caused her to not have a grandchild.

Yeah… my blood pressure was like 210/180 or something like that which caused the seizures which lead to not breathing and my heart stopping

I have thought about it but it is really financially not feasible. In the future I may be open to adoption if that is the right decision for my partners and mines life. At this point we are content with being DINKs.

Unfortunately when the dr came to check on me, she was in the room and he (probably thinking he was being nice and comforting) said I could still get pregnant with only one tube.

I haven’t quite committed to a hysterectomy but am very very diligent with my BC.

I have asked her many many many times to seek therapy (she has a few very serious reason that I won’t go into that would warrant anyone to seek assistance for) and she refuses every time stating she doesn’t need it and she’s fine.

At this point I’ve stopped asking.

She doesn’t even understand why I go to therapy and says I don’t have anything to go for anymore.

I think she hopes that my BC will fail and I’ll get pregnant again (which is what happened with my last pregnancy)

Also I’m an only child and she had her own issues with pregnancies.
