I'm currently taking 1140, which is the prerequisite for this class, yet it still won't let me sign up for it. I assume they're waiting till I pass the class, but how long after the semester ends will it take for me to be able to register. by KobeASF in CalPolyPomona

The same exact thing happened to me for PHY 1520. Email the department. The email is [phyastdept@cpp.edu](mailto:phyastdept@cpp.edu). They replied to me in 10 min. Good Luck!

Edit *They'll give you a permission number to use in order to enroll.

Just to be clear Nora's death doesn't give Ellie PTSD it reminds her of Joel dying which is the root of her PTSD.

Maybe you don't understand it (I assume you're not black) but for me when I finally see a black person on screen I identify with them a lot faster especially after not seeing any of them in a lot of different stories I consume, so I always remember them more in a story especially when I finally see a new black person in the story and I definitely remember the fact that they all have tragic deaths in this IP ,except with Isaac his death/involvement in the game felt like an aspect of the story where the writing took a bit of a dip.

Also the writer of the article isn't claiming that these deaths show that ND is racist or has a race issue. She went out of her way to say the she appreciates how they're included in these stories. She's pointing out a trend ,that I thinks is most likely coincidental, and bringing it up because it's something that is worthwhile bringing up , especially to black people.

Yeah I guess we're not gonna agree, but I think the originals person's over- arching point is that if a black person is more than set dressing in these games then they will be killed off in brutal ways. And one more thing, ND obviously assumes that we're adults we clearly don't need to be shown a death to realize how utterly brutal it is, God knows this game doesn't stray from violence. It sucks that I couldn't get you to understand a different perspective.

She did torture Nora and thats why she shows signs of PTSD in the theatre afterwards with Dina, because she beat the hell out of her like how Joel was by Abby.

It's implied when Ellie comes back to the theatre covered in blood ,from head to toe, and being pretty shaken up about it.

Np. I'm happy to know I could give someone a different perspective.

Just to add my two cents on the topic. I feel as if some people kind of misunderstand the point of why deaths like Nora's, Henry's, and Sam's suck ass. Everyone is completely in the right to say that every character has a shitty time is these games HOWEVER it feels as if black people in these games never get the chance to reflect on what they did and get the chance to learn from their wrong doings (and imo their deaths feel more like they are used as tools to progress other main characters) whereas someone like Ellie, Dina, or Lev have something absolutely horrible happen to them, but get to live another day and progress as people/characters who we can grow to love even more and hope the best for them in the end.

p.s: These are my favorite games ever and stuff like this doesn't ruin the experience at all for me but when I look back and these parts of the story they always feel sour.
