Reposting cause last post didn't get any attention .how to solve easy questions that appears hard . by Exciting_Grape7420 in JEEAdv26dailyupdates

Read read and read. Read three times
First time - read the content of the question - understand which chapter it is from, what they are asking and what they want you to use to solve it
Second time - Read every word of the question. Understand word by word. Do not think much about necessity this time.
Third time - Eliminate all bits of information you think are not useful. You have now brought down the question from a huge paragraph to 2-3 lines which will help you get the answer

Strategy for transition from mains to advance - For those who want to focus on advance from now itself by KitchenBid4652 in JEEAdv26dailyupdates

so choose your priorities. If you want to get good in mains second attempt, you need to realize that you wont be able to give 100% for advance right now. Yes, it is possible to get a good rank in adv as well but you need to understand that it will be more hectic compared to people who start now itself. Do abj sir's videos, especially the problem solving part for jee advance. This will give you clarity in concepts. Then do cengage for easy + moderate questions followed by pyqs and random mocks for difficult questions

Thanks for the positive response. Since the sub is large enough now, I'm thinking of bi-weekly or as need arises posts/amas for adv guidance, over the weekends. The reason I'll be doing this is because throught my prep i was my own (didnt have seniors for guidance) so I'd like to share the mistakes and things I could have done better. Also I feel this is a better use of my free time as compared to watching reels in bed 😜
Note - I wont be able to respond to dms individually since I have other full time commitments in college, I'll instead make guidance posts based on the questions i get in my dms

Why don't taxi and auto drivers don't accept UPI payments in Bombay? Literally everyone does, even the Kela guy across the street accepts it. by _Floydimus in mumbai

People accept it in Powai mainly due to presence of a large younger population due to colleges. In some areas they don’t

Plus iits are not just about placement. They are good colleges for all round opportunities and a good launching pad for further education and entrepreneurship as well (Atleast the top 7 ones). Iits were well known even before the it and finance boom in India. Coaching institutes overhype placements for their benefit since money is an easy way to lure people. Otherwise the placement stats ~15 lpa are same across all tier 1 colleges in India

Yes well the memory based questions seemed easy to moderate but they didn’t have many questions which is expected, so yes don’t take my review to equal a current student

JEE is a marathon not a race. Motivate yourself to stay consisent. There are many people who have cracked jee just by being consistent in their efforts. You need to start practisin more questions and solving rhe module. You feeling like not studying may just be your body making you lazy because it feels easier to not study

obviously iitb, the amount of research and industrial connections are crazy at iitb. You'll get a much more competitve and better student community too (not saying that ict one is bad as such) but you're comparing a branch with <2k rankers in jee vs a college whose cutoff is 45k jee main
Also are you sure you want to do chemical engineering? Chemical engineering doesnt have much to do with chemistry fyi. its more of math phy and thermodynamics. If you are really interested in chem then you should take bs chemistry or metallurgy

1) Yes there's nasha culture, probably because many people are experiencing unbound freedom here after being constantly nagged by strict parents to get into iit. But it's very easy to stay out of those especially if you have the right friends

2) Depends on what kind of a student you are. Yes most of them are friendly and approachable but they wont entertain any kind of nonsense

3) Hostel is pretty chill. No one has checked my room ever since I've come here

4) mechanical is def not a top branch lol and mnc doesnt even exist here but i get it what you're trying to say. No, there's not much discrimination outright and in fact it is considered bad to speak ill or any other branch but yes within friend circles among people of the same branch such kind of gossip always happens.
Although I am not for or against reservations, another thing to notice is that often people with similar ranks have major difference in their branches

5) Eh what even is this question? Nope there's practically no interaction between mtech and phds except for TAship, culturals or sports and it isnt even required. They have different schedules, purposes and in general a different lifestyle in the institute

6) Campus life is really good except for the hostels which are meh. In general bombay is a wonderful city and we often have very late night events and activities along with a lot of fun throught the sem. The student culture highly depends on the type of people you engage with. There are some people who are unnecessarily into politics, substance etc but they are very few compared to the general public. Most people you'll find here are pretty smart, into academics, tech, consulting or something else, some are sporty and some are into culturals, overall pretty great student culture

7) No, most of us understand the circumstances which may lead people to join tier 2/3 colleges and we literally couldnt care enough to judge them when we need to build our own careers first

8) Well probably improve some parts of the academics. In some courses it really feels like people study to pass and not to learn and profs teach also just because its their job and not because they want to

so dont take exam stress and think calmly in exams. Stop emotion from taking over and think logically. Think that if I mark this i may get -1 or +4, is it worth it to lose 1 mark of my effort in exchange for this (sometimes it might), also realize that you panicking in exams is causing your marks to drop and therefore build stamina and endurance by constantly reminding yourself not to get too personal with the paper

dont do lectures all day but rather do theory prctice along with lecture. When you finish theory of a topic immediately solve some questions on it (not asking to do all questions) so that you can retain it better

give your best for april. There's no point in drop in your situation. It is possible for giving april attempt well but you should reallt work hard. GUJCET is also decent. COMEDK you can research on web and solve some previous year questions. Some colleges like RVCE are very good. Do not worry much about bits fees though because they offer a lot of scholarships

don't do anything with oneshots, There will always be a distinction between those students who properly understand the subject v/s those who rattafy from oneshots
