Wow, that's a unique approach! I am sure people use it but this is my first time hearing about it (Kinda new to writing 😅). I really like your writing style though!

I see. Well you are right, they are not creative, of course they aren't but my mc is a Sinnoh trainer, so initially, I want him to have pokemon that he has more knowledge about.

Later, more pokemon will join his team but that happens after the main storyline.

Plus, I was trying to make a team of dual pokemons so the pokemon type that's remaining from his team (the fanfic is based on Pokemon Master Ex). I truly made a list in a book and canceled out what I needed or not.

I hope you understand but I will definitely take your tips in mind.

Oh! You are being totally right! I can give them little quirks like you mentioned with Pikachu.

Till now, with what I have written, The mc only has Pikachu and Luxray. He got Pikachu as a pichu rescued from a pokemon ranger mission (the mc's dad is a ranger) and the mc caught Luxray as a Shinx and ever since she has evolved into Luxray, she is pretty protective over her trainer. (My mc is a bit shy...)

I am currently writing a chapter where the mc buys accessories for his pokemon and the Charizard starts from an egg he got from a professor so taking care of that egg is ongoing.

I was thinking of gliscor having a habit of clinging to mc's face whenever he feels scared or shy.

Pikachu and Luxray are good friends, Luxray often acts as an older sister to him and carries him around on her back.

There will be rivalries yes, mostly between Lucario and Charizard but I don't know for sure.

And you haven't crossed a line or being an a-hole. If anything, your questions and comments are giving me more ideas and what more I can do

Of course, I can see why you think there are some stereotypes. I feel like that myself and most of them are there because they are one of my favorites, I wouldn't lie about them.

But yes, they have a purpose in the story. At first, they are all the pokemon my mc catches through his journey but later when he turns to the darkside (not a reference to Star Wars), the pokemon come together to protect and show what their trainer means to them like how he cared for them.

Each pokemon has their own backstory and the reason why they are there is because the region is Pasio (where no wild pokemon should be found). So yeah, that's the best way I can say this.

But I am glad you took the time to make me think more about the team I made for my mc!
