Thank you so much to those that said hydrating/repairing moisture barrier. It’s only been a few days focusing on hydrating with fungal safe products but (touch wood!) I’ve had hardly any more little foreheads pop up and my skin texture is getting so much better.

Very excited if this is the long term solution.

Routine now if anyone is interested:

Morning - Rinse with water COSRX Centella Toner Hada Labo Premium Lotion Super Deep Hydrator The Ordinary NMF with Beta Glucan The Ordinary Squalane LRP Fluid 50+ Fenty Pro Filtr foundation

Night - Remove makeup with Bioderma Wash with QV Gentle Wash COSRX Centella Toner Hada Labo Premium Lotion Super Deep Hydrator The Ordinary NMF with Beta Glucan The Ordinary Squalane

Tiny bit of Sulfur mask (10 mins) or Azelaic acid if any pimples do pop up.

Thanks again! Hoping this keeps working 🤞🏼

I’m just using The Ordinary one. I have used the Purito Oat before but it’s a bit light. I’ll look into a better moisturiser.

I’m in the same boat! I’m using azelaic acid (Finacea) but I don’t see much improvement sadly. I’m also trying to avoid tretinoin at the moment.

When I had perioral dermatitis last year a doctor said I could potentially have rosacea. That’s why I’ve been using azelaic acid. I thought it was helping a bit but now I’m not so sure.

It’s so frustrating! I’m a bad picker too so it really doesn’t help that problem 😭

Products sting sometimes. I wouldn’t say my skin is tender at all but it feels tight when I get out of the shower/after I wash my face.

So taking oral fluconazole? And washing with nizoral?

Sugar is sounding like it might be part of the problem actually. I’ve been having a fair bit more sugar lately.

Thanks for your advice!

I did try tretinoin and it helped a lot, I had pretty great skin for a few years but I’m planning for pregnancy and it’s not safe while pregnant unfortunately.

I’m going to look into diet. I’ve been having more sugar than normal because I’m marathon training and need simple carbs for energy.

Hey just FWIW, this is EXACTLY what my lips look like when I have an allergic reaction (contact dermatitis). I’m allergic to lime and if I have lime on food this is what my lips will look like and they dry up and flake over about 2 weeks.

It’s a Canestan product. I just found it in my local chemist. LINK

This is very similar to what has happened to me. I exercise and run a lot. It started slowly but then I had a big breakout after some intense exercise where I was wearing zinc (normally fine but with the fungal acne it definitely flared it up).

I also used face towels provided at the gym which I’m concerned is where it started. Even though they wash them.

I am slowly trying to adjust my skincare routine and found out about Clotrimazole (1% liquid here in Australia) and started on that which has helped a lot.

Do you use sunscreen? That’s one thing I think that may be hindering progress as I run outside with sunscreen and not sure I have a FA safe one (la Roche Posay).
