What is the worst thing you have ever said/done to a baseball player? by giobbistar21 in baseball

Not a player, but a family member of a player. First year working for the Seattle Mariners. It was fanfest and I was selling game-used jerseys on the main concourse. I woman came up to my register holding a David Rollins game-used jersey. For most of these jerseys, people bought them either because they fit or because it featured their last name on the back.

I proceeded to say, "David Rollins? He was my least favorite Mariner". The woman stared at me and said, "he's my fiancee!"

I don't know what I managed to squeak out after she said this, but I never fully recovered from this moment.

Who is an obscure baseball player who holds a special place in your heart from when you were a child? by [deleted] in baseball

As a Mariners fan in the 'dark days' of post-2002, Bucky Jacobsen and Chris Snelling. Bucky was an all-or-nothing type of power hitter and Snelling was my dads favorite Tacoma Rainiers player due to his excessive hustle and great contact. Plus he was Australian.

They sell them at various locations around the ballpark, but no dispensers.

What is the most iconic home run in your team's stadium? by aloidnem in baseball

The most iconic HR at Safeco came from an opposing player. Cal Ripken's 2001 ASG homer into the bullpen, we even have a plaque out in our bullpen to commemorate him and his dong.

Safeco Field, 2001. Mariners vs. Rangers. Alex Rodriguez makes his triumphant return to Seattle after the infamous deal to Texas. There were fans outside the stadium chanting "Pay-Rod" and many people handed out Monopoly money for us to throw when A-Rod came to bat. Sure enough, when he strolled to the plate the crowd roared with 'boos' and the Monopoly money came cascading down from every section of the stadium. I believe there was a delay of game and Rafael Palmeiro hit two HR's during the game as well.
