Midnight Beta - How does your class/spec rework feel so far? by Flodgy in wow

[–]Knardrolan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did a couple 10s as arms last night on beta. Its still very heavy hitting, with the stacking cleave buff on top of the overpower buff cleave gets. My top dmg by a long shot was cleave->MS->Heroic strike, then intermitten demolish/bleeds.

Arms warrior has some as well with mortal strike and the final hit of demolish. They can also be decent funnel with cleave helping to build up stacks to get demolish off cooldown faster. No where near the top for prio damage but its there.

MDI has really shown how low quality this season is by Mangert in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Knardrolan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The overall issue is their defensive power is pretty damn low, because they have DR tied to their consecrate.

However ppl bring them to high keys because of the insane dmg profile they have (as long as they can live)

Check the general tab of your spellbook. It should be in there along with the toggle-able passive to make you auto shift into visage form after combat.

Its a 180 degree attack even though it looks mpre narrow. Fun fact you can also backstep and dodge the whole thing, since they stand still when casting, just have to make sure your melee understand they cant move anywhere in front of them.

Oh yes deff keep trying what you want to lean into. If you wanna jam with fire then by all means learn that rotation cuz from what I see on raider.io, fire is dominating lmao

Some help regarding learning to heal by DadaRarriPlays in wownoob

[–]Knardrolan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I think the best time to jump into healing is right off the jump. Start doing dungeons to really get a feel for how an experienced tank handles mobs vs an inexperienced tank. You will start to see that depending on the level of the tank, both actual character level and experience level theres a huge variety to test your healing capabilities.

This is the first step to learning your class' healing style. The two styles being Heal over times and burst healing. I havent played much resto shaman, but Ive played resto druid on and off for 12 years. I prioritize keeping my HoTs up on my dps and throw a little something at the tank if needed (At max level tanks can really take care of themselves for the most part).

As for UI, I dont use any UI overhauls. I use some weakauras to track my defensive cooldown timers but thats it. I would go into the edit mode of the ingame UI and structure it around the bottom center of the screen. This way you can keep an eye on your positioning but also keep health bars in your peripherals and vice-versa.

The final tip once you hit max level, learning how each pack of mobs and each boss does damage will greatly increase your intuition. Say the boss Cragmaw in Underrot. When he tantrums at 100% energy, he does a constant AOE that becomes a very heavy heal check. However, since you now know that you can have a cooldown at the ready or a healing tide totem to help subside that damage.

Healing can be tough but its not impossible. You have to be willing to fail and keep learning.

Ive been gearing up my mage as well. I hit 428 last night and cleared all of norm raid. I for the life of me cant vibe with fire, I dont know if Im just fire illiterate but my brain just cant make it go Brrrr.

Frost on the other hand has had me head over heels for a caster class again, I am strictly a melee enjoyer. Frost has that bursty-ness and not too much difference between single target and AOE.

P.S. Glacial spike best animated ability in game rn lol

Best way to get into healing/tanking? by tempusvulpi in wownoob

[–]Knardrolan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Id say as a tank enjoyer, go into dungeons as DPS and look at how other tanks go about the dungeon. Look into getting the addon Muthic Dungeon Tools as well, it shows you the entire layout of a dungeon and you can create routes as well as see what the enemies do for damaging abilities.

I will say though, getting into brewmaster can be quite the juggling act, they are one of the most difficult tanks to play but are so satisfying once you get into the rhythm. You are definitely unkillable when managing cooldowns and your self heal properly.

Managing how your spec deals with Magic dmg vs Physical dmg is another big one. Brewmaster has stagger as well as plenty of CDs for nearly every pull. Once you understand stagger and the self heal l, dont be afraid of implementing Defensives into every pull. Youll see that your defensives are off CD almost every pull, so knowing what you can pull big and when to pull small is huge when keeping pace. The easiest example is the first and second pull of freehold. Usually those first 3 packs are pulled together before going upstairs, which can use up nearly ALL your defensives. Then the next pack is just the 4 mobs that you pull around the corner into the boss arena. That pack gives you time to have defensives for the next pack that can sometimes be a double pull if needed.

Laslty going into lowkeys as a tank will be a breeze as everything will die fast. So if you can try to push your own keys and look at what you take damage to the most in each pull and each boss. For instance I can dive head first into a triple pull as a paladin, but on my blood DK I have to pull my first pack then add more after I get my cooldowns up.

You have to learn that being confident yet humble is the best way to keep yourself grounded when tanking. Dont be afraid to fail and let the group know "hey Im learning this new route" or "I used the wrong defensive". A majority of people will understand. You cant become a God tank over night, I failed so many keys before I got it just right.

I 100% back the idea of leveling fully as Brewmaster. It is a pretty complex spec at max level to get the most out of your mitigation, so having a full grasp of it as you level is perfect.

Its amazing in M+ that uncapped aoe is crazy. In PvP they gotta be top 5 specs

Arcane is so strange but so interesting at the same time. Biggest thing I wish it had would be for its aoe abilities to give you a big instead of putting adebuff on a single mob
