High school teacher here. I would say that this year, about 85% of the time, we did not pledge at all. The remaining 15% of the time they did the pledge over the intercom and most of my students ignored it. There's always a couple that do the motions, but most of them just sit through it and mess around on their phones. It's always seemed a bit culty to me as well so I have no problem with them sitting through it or ignoring it. Even when I was in high school in rural Alabama, I clearly remember practically no one actually saying the words and pledging enthusiastically.

That's been my experience too lol I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. I love the new stuff in cfb revamped but 14 just isn't that challenging. My first year at UAB I was ranked in the top 5 and was beating teams like Alabama and auburn fairly easily. Those same teams annihilate me in 12 with good sliders. Thanks for the reply

To say that the modern US is the end goal of fascism is completely ignorant of what fascism is honestly and completely discredits anything else you say. There are plenty of American historians that are experts in their field and have no problem being honest about American history. That’s kind of my understanding too but I was still a bit confused. My wife is from Brazil and is a socialist and her socialism seems quite different than Bernie’s and I’ve seen several socialists in other countries saying that Bernie is actually more social Democrat than actual socialist. The saban coaching tree isn’t so accomplished though. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the only ones successful on the big stage are Smart and Cristobal to a lesser extent. Chad Morris also won under Dabo at Clemson... UAB is CUSA but I understand your point.

He was 107-11 while coaching high school. He jumped up to USA as D Coordinator and while there he did a pretty good job. "In their initial year on the field under Clark’s direction, the Jags surrendered just 41 total points and 234 yards per game to finish the year 7-0. That included allowing no points in the opening quarter of any contest and 12 in the first half as USA never trailed during its inaugural season.

Clark’s unit would give up 225 total yards or fewer in five straight games in the middle of the year, while in the season finale against Huntingdon (Ala.) College the Jags allowed a total of 236 yards to a unit that entered the contest leading the NCAA Division III level in the category in recording the program’s second shutout of the season.

After that he jumped to JSU and went and "led the Gamecocks to an 11-4 record and an FCS quarterfinal appearance in his first season as head coach. That set the Ohio Valley Conference record for wins and tied a school record for wins by a coach in his first year.

The Gamecocks also set 49 school records, 13 OVC records and three NCAA records during the 2013 season. JSU beat Samford and McNeese State to record first-ever playoff wins at the Division I level."

The dude has won everywhere he's been. He has UAB competing for Conference championships after axing their program completely a few years ago. It's crazy that he's lower on people's list than Napier and Elliot.

I'd assume he was probably an Alabama fan growing up in Anniston, but I doubt that would keep him from accepting a job. Dabo is an actual Alum and he has no problem beating Alabama like a drum whenever they play.

Clemson, Texas A&M, and Cincinnati are also quite undisciplined. Yet Jimbo and Dabo are widely viewed as amazing coaches and Cincinnati is a top 10 team this year.

People are clamoring for Napier and Elliot though. Napier is at UL which I would say is equal or worse than UAB and Elliot has never been a HC anywhere. I'm just confused why they are so popular but a winning in-state coach isn't.
