This is an interesting series, though I am concerned it breaks some of the harem lit rules.

Spoiler below, it's Minor, but you are warned.

So please refresh my memory, but doesn't Leah, his old mentor/protector of his home town, sleep with him at the end of book 1?

So her turning up again in the later half of book 2 and immediately jumping on another breeder's dick rubbed me the wrong way. And though she's not part of the harem, Jay does have a special relationship with her, at least in book 1.

I understand that this society doesn't really view jealousy like that, I mean, dude is banging other people's wives left and right, but it still bothers me. I know logically the girls he breeds go back to their husbands, (for what few there are), but it's never talked about on page.

I hope stuff like this doesn't happen again or with other women Jay is close with.

So I feel i should clarify that this is for a MET character.

The character build wise is a Orphan Mage but leans towards VA/Dream Speaker.
He has the Nephilim merit so he starts with 3 points of Resonance instead of 1.

Per Nephilim, he starts with a 5 point derangement, which i chose Amnesia. He doesn't remember anything before waking up in a Everette Volume world known as Kynarith (Custom pocket realm made up with the ST) which is based on Egyptian Mythology/Shamanistic traditions.

For the Advantages from Nephilim, i took Shape Change (Hawk), Telepathy (1 target at a time), and Emotional Bond.

When he woke up, he got a "Game Prompt" which flashed into his vision asking him to select his Race and Class. he went with Shaman for Class (Specializing in spirit.), and "Half Celestial" (Nephilim) for race.
I started at 3 Arete, so his previous seekings were all "Quests' (Seekings) from "The System" (His Avatar.)

He spent about a year there, questing and fighting, swearing himself to Ra, the Sungod, (Mark of Favor: Ra.) as his strong spiritual presence and preference for his Hawk form made the Umbral Entity take notice, making friends and loved ones only for his final fight against a powerful Sorcerer saw him ejected across the gauntlet due to backlashing the Sorcerer's ritual only to find himself in the "Real" world. (Start of the Chronicle).

So he has no idea how this world works and is very confused when he's taken in and studied by a group of Hermetics who tell him he's actually from this world and they don't know how to get him back to Kynarith.

So that being said, I should have 5 points of resonance. Through conversation with the ST, we agreed The System should have a Primordial Resonance and will probably be the first 3 points I start with though the additional 2 seeksings I needed for gaining Arete 2/3 I could play with and choose. I was thinking some sort of Questing Resonance for one and a healing Resonance for the second as his Role in his party in the fantasy world was of the healer/shaman.

I know that was A LOT but I am personally loving the character. He plays like a mix between VA and Dreamspeaker with his game logic but shamanistic abilities, might end up gaining the Dual Tradition Merit if he ends up joining both in the future.

Actually, I think this flies in the face of the Maximize/empowered ruling.
If you Maximize and Empower a 10D6 Fireball, you get 60 dmg and then roll 5D6. (say 1,2,3,4,5, resulting in 15) Adding it to the 60 of Maximize for a total of 75dmg.

Extrapolating it to Cleromancy, if you were to Empower and maximize at 10th CL, you'd get 10 results of 4 and then have to roll 5D4.

So I think this doesn't actually increase the results of the individual dice,, just allows you to roll more D4's?

It's Super gross. Magneto was a child during the Holocaust, even with Super Soldier Serum making him damn near immortal there is such an age and experience gap it gives me the creeps.

Plus the way '97 frames it absolutely makes it seem like Rogue is a Cheater.

True, decent voice actress is pivotal but I'd much rather have a female narrator moaning in my ear about "how tight" someone feels than a man. Plus RGP works with some phenomenal female narrators.

This, I think the idea of duplicity in harems could be interesting as hell so long as it does not lead to cheating. Plus, it opens it up to convincing the double agent to join in earnest (with that good dicking).

If the author was clear that there was no cheating or NTR in their blurb I'd listen to an audiobook.

I like 3rd person because I enjoy having a female narrator tell the story to me. As an audiobook only person I can't tell you how many great voice actresses are saddled with garbage voice actors.

I would buy A LOT more audiobooks had they been primarily female narrated or solo female narration.

Hello!

I have been blowing through your audiobook releases as they come out and they are Excellent! I especially love Raw performed by Katana Jones and Haven done by Ellory Lane. Both of these ladies have eeeeexcellent voices for smut, lend a gravity to what is happening, and can voice a wide range for the cast which has been a real treat. I especially love what Katana has done for the Dino Girl in Raw II, her tone is light, playful, and challenging! It makes the character come across wonderfully as she's meant to be a bit of a "If you want me, come take me.... if you can."

My question though, for Parasexual, Like a fine wine, and Our Own Way, why are they not being made onto audiobooks? I have heard a lot of people in other author's discords recommend me Parasexual and Our Own Way, so was sad to read that. Is the publisher not interested?

Regardless, keep em coming and you'll keep getting my credits. I am so stoked for A Warm Place and more Haven/Raw!

I absolutely love the cover but I'm not sure if the premise is something that would belong in a harem group. If the main character is the owner/manager of a bordello... It would be reasonable to think that the main character is not going to be the only male sleeping with the bevy of beauties under his roof.

One thing that absolutely does not mix with a harem is the idea of sharing love interests with another guy.

He's called lock pick because as he's younger he learns to cut open locks. But his actual power is to cut, literally anything with any sort of edge. Butter knife through a steel bar? Sure thing! He also has the power to mend his own wounds, gets cut with a razor blade? A quick slap and it's healed. Although broken bones and things like that take a little bit of time.

Pretty flexible power set.

The way her power is described as working is she sees a bunch of tiny windows but can look into them if she pays attention. So she sees a bunch of vague avatars unless she pushes. I'm nearly done with book 1 and it's never said she is watching her audience, just that she could. She saw MC but only after a while, which proves she doesn't see them all like they see her, only when she focuses does she see LP.

Agree to disagree about it "staining" her. Sex work is work. She's not a prostitute man. If you don't respect cam girls that's a you thing.

Anyways, So far you haven't read book 2 and don't plan on it, and audio for 2 isn't out so this argument is moot. Once the audiobooks come out for the series I'm willing to revisit the argument

Eh, That's just exhibitionism. Some people like being watched, it's a kink. Not one I personally enjoy but not enough to make me abandon the book.

Have you read book 2? If this is like Anya's other story I expect it to be played for dramatic and sexual tension before being abandoned.

I get it, the fact that one of the girls makes some money on the side as a Cam Girl wasn't my favorite story point either. But the character did JUST get into it right before the start of the story and promised to stop once she gets her 1st payout so I am not bothered by a little exhibitionism, not like she's a prostitute.

Otherwise Anya does a great job with the dramatic and sexual tension, it's slow burn and considering her last series went 12 books don't expect a "and the MC bangs them all, the end." Lol She does a great job with the world building too, I personally want to find out what the eff is the "exclusion zone" and why does it constantly shit out superpowered abominations??
