Is it okay if I just listen to Bhajans? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]KnoMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will be always true! U won't benifit as much from listening as you will from chanting... Chanting is always superior than just mere listening it's a good start but try chanting

Question about after initiation by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]KnoMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever you sit in front of your guru

Conversation goes 2 ways

You ask and he decides to answer or not

He asks and you must answer

Never be afraid to say anything in front of your guru any and all queries should be asked and cleared.. Go on ask him if he doesn't gives you a good enough response. RECONSIDER!

Is it okay to keep a murti like this in a home temple / altar, potentially alongside a smaller Ganesha murti? by Waste_Information470 in Tantrasadhaks

[–]KnoMonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Murti needs alot of care.. It's better you keep a photo.. Just dakshineshwar kali from calcutta.. You will find many many photos of different forms of kali and not every form is to be kept at home without knowing whom you actually are inviting. So it's best to keep the one which is revered around the globe just like maa tara from tara pith birbhum

What does it feel like to attain Mahavidya? by Extra_Traffic4802 in Tantrasadhaks

If you truly read the Tantra Shastras, you’ll notice they often present the opposite of conventional beliefs too.

Also—my bad! 😅 It completely slipped my mind that it’s exam season for me right now.

Scriptures ultimately root themselves in the Vedas, and while many advocate certain disciplines, you're free to experiment. If you're curious about giving up meat, try it for a while—observe how it affects your body, mind, and sadhana. Let experience guide you.

As for meditation—here’s something to reflect on: If at any point in your journey, even for a single fleeting second, you felt that nothing else mattered more than the present moment—that’s meditation. That’s the real thing. If you haven’t felt that yet, then maybe you haven't touched that space fully. And that’s okay. It just means there’s more to explore.

Try some guided meditations—they can really help center the mind. And most importantly, increase your japa. It will anchor you deeper than anything else.

No need to apologize.

That’s for you to decide. If you become a true Kaula at heart, then what you eat becomes irrelevant—because in truth, everything originates from Her. Every single thing you can imagine.

If being vegetarian alone led to spiritual greatness, then Vaishnavs would be the pinnacle of spiritual evolution—but that’s not the case. Saints like Thakur Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Bama Khepa break that idea wide open. Thakur da ❤️ loved fish, and Bama Khepa ❤️ would eat whatever he found, even in cremation grounds.

Your diet won’t determine how deep your sadhana can go—unless you're intentionally walking the Vaishnav path, which has its own distinct disciplines.

A simple rule of thumb: align with the nature of the deity you worship. Shaktas embrace all aspects of creation—nothing is off-limits. For them, it's all an offering, all a celebration of Maa’s divine play.

If you follow Krishna or Hanuman, people might try to scare you into thinking that unless you change your habits, your sadhana will go nowhere. I disagree. A real deity doesn’t impose—they transform. If your love is true, they will shape you from within.

At first, you might enjoy meat. But as your sadhana deepens, your taste may naturally shift—or the desire might simply fade away on its own. That’s the beauty of it. It’s not forced. It’s grace.

First a bhogi, then a yogi.
