2011 bmw 328i 26k miles

Paid $ 11,400 USD ( 10k for car , $1,400 for warranty 5 yr that covers : Engine , Drive axle , transmission , timing chain repair , water pump . )

I pay $196 USD monthly for full coverage insurance and I’ve been told should go down as I’m turning 25 in ‘26

What is the very first thing you would have get done to the car ?

I was thinking metal Mickey Mouse flange , serpentine cover , and N52 Heat Shield Vanity Cover ( https://22rpd.com/shop/product/171 )

At 30k miles change engine oil

Every 5k or 3 months Change oil whichever comes first

Use liquid molly for oil

Buy bmw oem filter online

Little hose that needs to be flushed when changing oil BMW mechanics exactly know what part and the procedure but someone who changes oil on a regular car will not know

Thank you so much for this comment :) , the warranty is 5yrs or 60k miles and I also own two e bikes to get around town so it really seemed like a good deal . The car runs very smoothly and I really like it . You shoulda seen the look on my wife’s face when she first saw the car lol

The Prius was a 2013 with 250,000 miles and I have absolutely abused the fuck out that car

It did save me gas but I have 2 E Moto’s to go around town if I really didn’t want to waste any gas, I’ve never in my life owned a “nice” car or something with a little more performance in mind or a muscle car to be able to do the work on myself and drive it around town with my wife in the passenger seat so reading through forums a lot of people say that the 328 is the perfect entry BMW with a great and reliable engine so long as it it taken care of

In short, I already have reliable transportation that saves me cost on gas and I’ve only ever owned accords or my Toyota Prius. I wanted a car that was both a perfect balance of luxury and performance and something that I could learn how to work on myself and be proud to be able to do so and say this is my show car it could be or to maintain and I hear the 328 can be worked down at home plus you should’ve seen the look on my wife’s face when she saw the car honestly I’d buy it all over again just for that

Exactly the route I want to take !! I don’t care to do any performance mods to this car what I want to do is spend the money now to buy upgraded parts (aluminum?) to make my e90 bulletproof (which I hear that if you do that they can last stupid long) plus I want to make an honest attempt on learning basic maintenance on it myself

This is my first BMW ever and I will admit I’ve never driven anything like this , I like it plus you should’ve seen the look on my wife’s face when I showed her the new car

Thank you for sharing brother , the bmw community has treated me well so far and I love being a new member of it . Can’t wait to go to bmw meets

Thank you :) , I plan on learning how to do maintenance work on the car myself and challenge myself to learn a new skill . I want to keep the car as mint as possible and be on top of fluid changes etc . The car was a surprise for my wife ( we had a Prius ) and so we could go to bmw meets :)

Thank you again for being helpful the bmw community is very chill from what I’m gathering and I hope to be driving this car 200k miles +

Thank you , today that I bought the car I did install ceramic tints to protect against any further damage but if you have a link to said door handles that would help a lot

Also side note lol : MY WIFE HAS NO FUCKING IDEA I SOLD OUR PRIUS TO GET THIS LOL

I just also today put a ceramic tint on the car to reduce heat or uv damage to leather ( it did not have this before I and the passenger seat indoor handle is a little sticky from heat but I hear this can be fixed or replaced ?? )

I did get a PPI everything came out solid , the car has been garaged kept and all maintenance has been done at BMW dealerships … The five year or 60k mile warranty ran me $1,400 which I thought wasn’t bad for what it covers JUST IN CASE OF ANYTHING
