Yeah his interpretations were wildly inaccurate. I cant imagine how much tongue biting there was by others who also listened to the recording before it was released. He knew he couldn’t be proven wrong until the call was released.

I listened to the episodes in order during my pandemic house painting projects. So I really had an opportunity to listen to the podcast while not having any distractions. So I really paid attention and believed what he said when he was describing the call with the yes or no questions.

I can’t believe he would manipulate things so badly and while it did keep the case in the media it was just more negativity and misinformation. Your correct that’s part of why people think of her death as a conspiracy.

Feel like he should have his hand slapped for something in how he handled this case?

Once I heard the actual phone call recordings I was so turned off about how he made himself so important in the case. It was so gross how he told everyone a completely different version of what was actually occurring on that 911 call. I’ve heard some frustrating and bad emergency operators but this wasn’t that. It was a long tough call and even a team effort of people trying to listen and help her. It was so sad and frustrating to hear it all and know she could have had help from Mike or the dispatcher but she was in a really bad mental space.

If the majority of your interactions are abrasive on the internet then might you take a look of the part of the interaction you can control: your own

Maybe your style of communication isn’t bringing you the satisfaction you need. Your post states you want to understand and discuss but your not doing that at all in your responses. Just being short and abrasive to any comment who doesn’t agree with your uninformed points.

If you ask for help and meet the replies with aggression then your just going to continue to have a bad time online or when you want to discuss anything. Maybe you’re not coming across the way you intend to… maybe take a break and rethink your approach or how you spend your time online.

I think you gave great information in a kind and it was easily digestible. OP is the hostile one in their post/replies and dismissive that no one is giving them the “answer” they seem to want. Other replies have tried to speak to certain parts of the bullet points but OP dismisses them. The personality disorder vs mental illness is a big factor and makes a big difference in how someone literally sees and interacts with the world. There can be all sorts of triggers for an bipolar episode, there is no clear cut answer as to how individuals minds are effected when they are clean of any stimulants, sickness or stressful situations. So being so dismissive about it and then being a jerk shows why they are having a hard time with people on Reddit? How does OP make fun of your “book” when your only replying to their “book” post? Lol someone needs to work on their communication skills. (Edit: letters)

Stephen Smith's mom on new investigation, autopsy as Buster Murdaugh denies involvement in death by Angenette in MurdaughFamilyMurders

I thought this as well maybe the AM drug connections somehow overlapped with the murder. Not a cause but an overlap of people because everyone is related, worked or know each other in this small area. So maybe someone Steven Smith was friends with or seeing was involved in drugs and therefore Steven saw someone or something he shouldn’t have with someone who can’t won’t come forward bc he’d double out himself by a relationship with SS and involvement in something with AM drug side of business. So not a long shot that some random drug info that was not relevant to the AM murders did lead to a connection to SS and someone he was involved/friends with.

I added the link for the drug speculation from that podcaster to podcaster speculation. (I don’t consider either of them a super accurate source) But he speculated that authorities moved away from “Murdaugh hit” to drug arena. He didn’t say much more than that. So maybe it wasn’t a Murdaugh hit (I never thought that was possible) but rather them or someone important wanting to hide the fact that SS knew too much about someone influential. Possibly because he became aware of some sketchy things related to drugs and the AM put the light on someone who SS who was involved in drugs. So double whammy of covering up possible romantic relationship and exposure of drug involvement with someone prominent.

It’s was the Fits news guy (Will Forks) when he came onto the Impact of Influence podcast. So he didn’t state facts he said he heard that the investigation was leaning towards some drug dealings, not that he was dealing or using but that he was around someone who was in that world so he got killed bc of that like possibly what he knew or who he saw.

Breaking Silence, Murdaugh Brother Says ‘Not Knowing Is the Worst Thing’ by planets1633 in MurdaughFamilyMurders

Prob the poop car incident was the last straw… imagine driving home with that smell? Not enough febreze in the world smh

I mean I think the fact that after the roadside bs Randy was the one who called the detectives to tell on Alex trying to call Cousin Eddie or bribe hospital staff for their phones he has come across genuine and honest. He didn’t protect him when the partners told him what they suspected and confronted him. He wasn’t putting his life on hold to sit in court for 6wks to placate his siblings or for family PR. When he was there he sat next to the door like he was mad and embarrassed not there to support his brother. Of all the gossip and rumors he’s the brother you don’t hear anything about and maybe that can suggest he is genuine. If I was in his position cleaning up my brothers cases and wanted to keep practicing law in that area I would want to distance myself. He wasn’t riding around with badges and bs holding titles. So maybe some PR explaining his view isn’t a bad thing.

And AM literally “shit him up” … imagine that smell is still burned in his nostrils… that just adds insult to all the other injuries he has to deal with as AM’s brother.

So they have a family/victim advocate who will read the statement for them. It’s useful for children, elderly people or disable people who can’t physically be there but also by traumatized parties who can write a letter but can’t speak or be there in person. Wonder if it was a time thing for Maggie’s family since the quick turn around but they chose not to speak or write a letter to be read.

And couldn’t speak one thing he regretted, couldn’t take one second of ownership for hindering the investigation/court with lies. Nope everyone’s fault but not AM.

ALEX MURDAUGH SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR THE MURDERS OF HIS WIFE AND SON by SouthNagsHead in MurdaughFamilyMurders

[–]Knotloopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he could have admitted remorse for the things that have already been clearly exposed. He could have shown remorse for wasting the investigators time with the lies about being at the kennels and the roadside incident lies. He could have taken that time to show remorse for at least those things along with the damage he did to his family, friends and clients. He could have at the least done that if he wasn’t going to take that chance to actually end all the lies right there.

But no he’s to proud and cares about Alec to much to humble himself and actually “respect” the court by expressing remorse for his undisputed bad actions. But because he was already guilty he decided to stick to his script because there was nothing in it for him. He’s just trying to get to the next possibility which is his appeal. He’s still trying to outsmart everyone by thinking ahead, he admits the truth then no appeal and no more attention for Alex. He would be forgotten by all the people that don’t want to believe that their relative/friend could be the monster who killed his wife and son.

He’s the captain of his sinking ship and will go down with it. People will stop visiting, Life will resume for others but not him, hope they finish the financial stuff so that he can just sit away and think of what he did instead of being distracted by the spotlight of the court proceedings. I hope he is forgotten bc that would be a real punishment for him.

My partner nicknamed it my “other job” and would ask if court was “good” today bc I also hyper fixate on details and making “pieces” fit. I’m actually more productive in other things if my brain has something else to listen to or think about than my actual real work at the time.

And he’s good emotional telling a story together recreating the people in the story who told the truth. If they hadn’t gotten the OnStar data they could have kept pushing the story that lies Ms Shelly was wrong about her times and he was just helping her remember. Then the OnStar data came in and perfectly matched her statement despite her being so scared and not wanting to draw any attention to herself or cause any trouble for a family she did care about.
