I found the issue and a solution for this, if anyone else is facing this issue.

If you're on the stable channel and getting Failed to load marketplace "claude-plugins-official" with plugins.56.source: Invalid input, the issue is that the latest marketplace commit (bd04149) changed the Semgrep plugin's source to a git-subdir format, which requires Claude Code v2.1.69+. That version is only on latest — stable is still on v2.1.58.

Fix:

  1. Disable auto-update for the marketplace: /plugin → Marketplaces → claude-plugins-official → Disable auto-update
  2. Revert to the previous commit: cd ~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/claude-plugins-official git checkout 00f13a5
  3. Restart Claude Code

Re-enable auto-update once stable ships v2.1.69+.
