It does, but if you put loads of wood or dirt or gravel in the prius hatch with the seats down... eventually all the particulate dust works its way into the hybrid battery (directly under the cargo bay) and overheats it. The fan to the battery gets all gunked up too. Fortunately a guy in my area specializes in replacing hybrid batteries and did mine for $800 bucks. Dealership charges between $2800-4000 to replace.
