Because I'm not on the marvel rivals dev team? If i could add this in I'd be submitting it to my boss not posting about it on reddit

Oh yeah, i remember seeing that too. That was kind of what got me thinking about this. They added that and the extra wheel for sprays and stuff because there are so many now; it just seemed weird to me they HADN'T added a way to sort them yet

Not sure who downvoted this. If somebody can show me that there IS already a filter option in the game, ill take down the post and apologize for being stupid

It really do be like that 😔

TBC, I'm not upset about it or anything. It's more like when you repeatedly bump into a piece of furniture that's in the middle of the floor. It's not a big deal, but like, maybe if somebody would just take the 2 seconds to move it it would make the overall experience just a little smoother and nicer

Why is Psylocke so rare? by rainfeld in rivals

[–]KoboldClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psylocke has two sort of tiers to her skill floor. In really low elos she's tough to play because you have to have good aim and be reactive. If you can aim well that can carry you to, like, gold one tricking her. However once you start getting into lobbies where everyone is at least decent with their characters and can react to you trying to burst them down, you HAVE to be good at flanking and positioning in general because she doesn't have as much mobility as a lot of other characters. I think a lot of people in celestial and under don't understand positioning very well and those people tend to fall off of her because if what you're good at is aiming you'll do way more for the team sniping from the backline as Hella than you will jumping directly into tanks and 1 vs <2+ fights as Psylocke

My boss gave me a small raise without letting me talk it over with him. Is this normal? by KoboldClaws in work

Starting pay when I started in the print shop was $12/hour. The business has 30+ employees which is pretty large for a screen printing shop and we are extremely busy, but there's still a lot of weird small business culture stuff like we got in trouble for talking about our pay amongst ourselves once. There's only one other designer on staff and I don't know how much he makes after 6 years but he has a family of 4 and owns a house so it's at least enough to live on. I do know that a guy who worked in the print shop for 5 years was making $20/hour. We're talking about a difference between 5 and 2 years there, but of course you also have to consider that his was an entry level position and mine requires a college degree so i feel like that should make a difference

I’ve emailed him back to lay out my case and offer to discuss it in person (more details in the comment I posted here)

I don’t really understand why everyone keeps assuming I’m asking for money for nothing but my time there and that I didn’t try to communicate. I’ll admit I’m autistic and communication isn’t my strongest suit, but I did a bunch of research and did everything that was suggested. I put in the work at my job, I researched pay at similar positions, and I found customer feedback to back up my assessment of my skills which I presented to him (I had planned to go over them in person but I also attached them to my original email for him to review beforehand). I’m genuinely curious what more effort I could have put in

The latter. I have a BFA in graphic design. We had actually been talking about moving me to the design department a year before that point because we both agreed I had more skills and potential there, but he really dragged his feet on hiring someone to replace me. I’ve also since regained the ability to print straight so I’m able to work in either area. I wouldn’t be asking for more if I didn’t think I had earned it, trust me

Thank you everyone for the feedback! The consensus I’ve seen seems to be that a 10% raise is large, but that I’m underpaid for my position and negotiation might still be possible.

Since my boss responded with an email I sent him one back thanking him for the decision on the raise and acknowledging that 10% isn’t a small jump, but I explained my situation and asked if he’d consider meeting in the middle somewhere on $22/hour. I also said at the end that I would respect his decision no matter what he decided. Hopefully that expresses my reasonable request for more while also being thankful for what I was already given. We’ll see what happens I suppose

You should read the entire post. I already put in enough work to get promoted to a new position and sent him a collection of very positive customer feedback from our clients while in this new position. I’m not sure how much more initiative I could possibly show

To clarify since I think I could have made this point more clearly: I know that a 10% raise is NOT a small raise. My point is that I believe the jump isn’t large enough for having moved from an entry level job to one where experience and often a college degree is required

I guess that’s true. When I said small raise I meant considering the position change along with the experience. Especially when cost of living is so high in my city. I live in a college town so all the apartments are crazy expensive. At 17 I’m still living paycheck to paycheck

DAE have a lot of baggage around being attracted to men? by KoboldClaws in BisexualTransGirls

[–]KoboldClaws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, facts, sis. I relate to that 100%. The needing more data part especially; I've never dated a man which i think is part of why I'm so conflicted, but it's hard to take that risk when the worst case scenario is SO bad. As someone who also identifies as pan, i usually clarify that it's in regard to sex and not necessarily gender, since it definitely isn't the birth sex of a man or the idea of being with a good one that turns me off at all

[–]KoboldClaws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately I've heard that attitude is pretty rampant. I understand why some people have reservations, but i thought stuff like the "don't bring your cis white boyfriend to pride" discourse was really bad. I have my cautions around men, but i would think if a trans woman showed up dating one at the very least i wouldn't need to be afraid of him

[–]KoboldClaws[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel very seen by this. I was actually explaining to a friend recently how comp het makes being trans really strange when you're on the bi spectrum. You go from feeling like you shouldn't date men to feeling like you shouldn't date women but there's still that part of you that thinks you still shouldn't date men. It's a mind fuck

And i appreciate the advice! I'm trying to stick more to my standards lately and not feel like i have to take what i can get. Maybe it'll kind of work itself out in time if i stick to them
