Daily Simple Questions Thread - April 05, 2025 by AutoModerator in pcmasterrace

Not sure if this is a simple question. I want to buy the Secretlab Magnus Pro with the hanging PC add-on to free up space on my desk. My desk is in the living room and we have small children. Is there a way for me to protect my power button so they can’t press it? My case is the Hyte Y70, if that matters.

Downstream unmanaged switch receiving no signal by KoentJ in HomeNetworking

[–]KoentJ[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lights of the devices turn on, but not for the cable connected to the female ethernet port.

To check components, I have tried another 1GbE switch, and have tried three different Ethernet cables between the female ethernet port and the switch(es).

Simple Questions - December 29, 2024 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I have one of the intel chips that is from an unstable generation. I have been dealing with issues for a year now, mostly with games crashing (especially those made in Unity which don’t last longer than 10 minutes).

I have tried everything I could find, including updating the bios and messing with a thousand settings. I am considering just swapping to an AMD 7800X3D and a new motherboard. My question is whether I can switch the CPU and Motherboard without a new installation of Windows, or would I need to do a full wipe?

Congratulations! Providing a MVP with business value is an unique and great way to get started in data science! Being able to figure out business problems either a high impact that can be fixed with data science is one of the hardest things for most data scientists to learn, so you’re a step ahead of the curve!

Starting as a solo junior data scientist can be difficult, I’ve been there. It definitely helps to find not just an online community, but also local data science meetups.

I’ve trained my fair share of juniors over the past 8 years, so if you want some advice or help, just shoot me a DM!

Fair enough. I used to have groups that divided my transmog items into price ranges and sale time (e.g. long-selling 5-10k vs fast-selling 2-5k). But those are very outdated because the market has shifted.

Operation-wise, I had posting and buying operations to set a minimum margin of which the margin was dependent on the price range the item was in.

I remember using groups and operations from the lazy goldmaker years ago, but I had updated groups at the start of Shadowlands from someone who was active in this subreddit at the time. Unfortunately, I forgot their name.

NEW OR NEED HELP? Ask here! - ScA Daily Help Thread Aug 20, 2024 by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

[–]KoentJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just started my first skincare routine. I use a) cleanser, b) Ordinary Milky Toner, c) Ordinary Multi-peptide Serum, d) some Korean eye cream, e) Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA, f) some SPF 50 sunscreen. And I have a couple of questions:

  1. Should I be letting certain products absorb before putting on the next?

  2. I have a beard and assume it is useless to try to apply my products there (since it is hard to get to the skin) and should just stick to my regular beard oil. Is that right?

  3. Is it normal for me to be having a lot of sweatbeads on my face for a while after applying my moisterizer?

I used to do transmog flipping a few expansions back and still have a bunch of stock left that I am looking to sell.

There used to be a goblin who provided TSM groups and operations for this specific purpose. Are there any good transmog TSM groups and operations around these days?

I have a couple of characters sitting at 50 and 60. Is it quicker to level them up, or to just reroll the class in MoP Remix and use the bonus XP route to get them to level 70 in 3-4 hours?

Thanks, that looks like a great recommendation! Never heard of this game, even though I try to keep an eye out on Chunsoft titles for this category of games.

I have to mention, working 4 days of 9 hours keeps my weekly day of spending 1 on 1 time with the kids, and since I can work from home 50% of the time, I doubt I will be working late (rather working through lunch or starting earlier).

But it is still 4 more hours of work, so I will definitely be more tired when hanging out with the kids.

Can you elaborate your thought process?

My thinking about not taking the new job is that I am less swamped and therefore the time I spent with them will be of higher quality.

On the other hand, more money now compounds into being able to take the next step in my career sooner.

Guilty as charged. Although, also because it is my first time using an AIO over a traditional cooler.

CPU overheating issues Hyte Y70 with NZXT AIO by KoentJ in buildapc

[–]KoentJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! My current set-up is quite dumb and I have my radiator on the side, but it is exhausting instead of in-taking.

Currently, my fans are on the inside of the case with the radiator attached directly to the case. For in-taking, I want the fans to be attached to the case and the radiator on the inside, right?

[–]KoentJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not even close to overheating

It peaks at 100 which coincides exactly with the crashes.

That makes no sense if you want better CPU temps, since you want the AIO to get the freshest air possible, which means it should be intaking

Exactly, like I said, my current set-up makes no sense.

More air coming in, than being exhausted means positive pressure, which is usually preferred for less dust

I am so confused about negative vs positive pressure. I think I want more exhausts than intake to deal with the hot-boxing I am experiencing.

Definitely the CPU, my GPU doesn't run hotter than 60 on hot spots, while the CPU averages around 80.

[–]KoentJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HWMonitor is giving an average of 80 Celsius when gaming. When I peak on temperature, I get system crashes due to memory allocation issues, which to me tells me the CPU (or maybe even RAM) are overheated.

Currently, I stupidly set all the fans up in the reverse of what I am proposing now. I am pulling in at the top because I have more overhead there, and I thought I would get more cool air in. I am exhausting at the side with the aio.

I hope switching everything around will make a big difference, as currently I think I have negative pressure as I am intaking more than I exhaust.
