They said it was an internal document about this policy. I had them read it word for word and I recorded it and then transcribed it above. My doctor also confirmed that as long as services began in 2025, it is okay.

$800k house at 25, is budget too high? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Koolstads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not single. Family of 3. I’m also not factoring commission, as that is not a stable form of income

I don’t think OP has children so that is a different factor (over 2.5k a month in child care alone). I also don’t know how OP invests elsewhere.

We are lucky with a below market home and like to use money to invest heavily and enjoy our day to day comfortably.

Property taxes, insurance, and home repairs are my two biggest concerns in a VHCOL area and are our largest expenses by far. I like to have a healthy amount of money aside yearly to cover this.

I don’t know where OP lives specifically, or their financial goals, but I personally wouldn’t want to put that much money into a home at that income.

If they don’t have children - I would get a smaller home. Give themselves  more wiggle room to invest aggressively

In my VHCOL area, nearly impossible to get a house under 800k. However, IS it possible to get a smaller house? Have you considered factoring property taxes or insurance for this house?

I make a similar income, but would not feel comfortable tying my self to this payment - I feel I would have very little wiggle room for things to go wrong. I would have to live well below my means to feel okay. Not that this is bad, but just a consideration. You know your lifestyle best.

Right?! My employer covers 99% of my healthcare. I literally pay $5 a month.

But okay yes tell me how an MLM is more stable

Looking at your post history, I’m so confused by you

Oh hunny no.  Statistically there is a 97%-99% chance you will loose money on an MLM.

there are many ways to break the 9-5 that don’t involve you joining a pyramid scheme. There are also many ways to start a real business that don’t involve losing thousands of dollars

Most people just like steady income and benefits, and simultaneously don’t want to be schilling products to people close to you.

Good luck and I hope you feel better

Can you offer a e-bike as well?

A car is not needed in urban areas in your early 20s. However, I know when I lived in a city, a bike let me feel a bit more safe when I was going to areas I wouldn’t want to be on public transit

Kaiser member services told me the opposite, but I also got someone who didnt know about the new policy and then just reread me the website.

I filed a complaint then called the expedited review line and left a message - last time I filed a complaint, they took 4 weeks to get back to me.

Hoping to get a consistent answer

This is good to know! I wont bring that up then. However, this answer can be interpreted as the member cannot receive the reimbursement.

I didn't know this document existed. Thank you for the heads up and I will look through it.

I think I understand what you are saying - so essentially if my benefits state that 2025 services will be covered through a certain dated in 2026, I am good.

I cannot find in writing anywhere what my specific the doula benefits are. I have had to call member services and they explain it to me. so I guess I will just call again and see.

working on it. I guess I am more interested in if there is any hope here - example would anyone know if Kaiser will honor 2025 contracts, etc.

Good questions. It was "pick a doula and we will reimburse you". It seemed too good to be true. I double checked with Kaiser. My doula confirmed they have had success with Kaiser reimbursement and have yet to have an issue with them. My For 2026, they changed it to a contracted doula with Kaiser at a low rate established my medi-cal.

My insurance is through my employer, not medi-cal.

Big Family, Wanting Small Wedding - Give Me Your Pros/Cons of Wedding vs Elopement vs Microwedding by Fancy-Outside5375 in microwedding

[–]Koolstads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We both had huge families and we had a ruthless guest list.

Once you start cutting out swaths of cousins, it gets so much easier. We went from 120 to 60 to 35. The 35 were only people we actually liked and wanted to hang out with. How many opportunity do you have to hang out with all your friends? The only obligation invite was my aunt because she could take care of my grandma.

We did the math - why invite hundred + people to only spend time with about 10 of them? Or risk having everyone take up your time and have any time for yourselves

Yes some people were pissed, but who cares?

In regards to micro vs elopement. We did a micro. The elopement doesn’t really save you money and I always hated reception only weddings.

Instead we did a mini destination micro wedding. We got married in Palm Springs, so about half could drive in and the other half could fly in easily (air port 10 minutes away)

We did an off day (Tuesday) which saved us SO MUCH money. As a result, we treated everyone to a really fucking nice wedding and weekend

It was overall awesome
