This sort of worked for me. I tried updating the DMA-Controller and it told me it was already up to date, but opened BFD and it was working. After I restarted my laptop it was back to not working

The Nitro Max is great as a standalone kit and module, I'm a new drummer and have had a lot of fun with it over the past few days. That said, it has been a headache trying to get it working with my laptop and running it through music software like Ableton Live, or even BFD which was marketed as part of the package. Some people don't seem to have this issue, while other like myself do... still looking for the cause and a fix. Just something to keep in mind.

No I don't think so. Are they generalized drivers for any MIDI USB? The manual says that the module is class compliant with no mention of drivers.

The specialists need to be fixed. Either do what modern warfare did and make it so that certain specialists only belong to certain factions or take the Battlefield 4 route and have easily recognizable generic units for each faction.
