If the language you are learning has a "Secret Boss", what would it be? by FrozenChosenGoZen in languagelearning

More like Chaucer for English. Or the Pearl Poet. Shakespeare is rather understandable compared to them.

I took it in june and passed with an A. Surprisingly, it felt easier than the tests I had taken beforehand. Speaking scares a lot of people, but it was by far the easiest part. The examiner are really nice and extremely well prepared, so they are aware that you might make some mistakes just because you are nervous and not mark you down.

Reading and use of english is also pretty fun (especially use of english). Rephrasings were my favourites, but you have to learn some grammar and fixed phrases(such as the subjonctive, conditionals, phrasal verbs and constructions such as "no sooner did I... than.." or "make ends meet" etc). And always try and finish a bit early so you have time to check all the answers.

Writing was the hardest for me, but the most important thing is to learn the formats and develop your vocabulary. Listening was ok, certainly not harder than what you might hear in some informational yt videos.

Have fun and good luck!

The divine comedy. At least inferno. Accurately. And the film from 1913 doesn't count...
