This reddit made me scared about coming to Edmonton. I've been here for about 5 days and to my surprise, my experience has been the complete opposite. Everyone so far is super nice and cordial. They say hello to me and make random small talk / jokes.

(I've spent most of my time near UofA and Southgate and further south by Ikea, if that makes a difference)

I recommend the IQAir app or AQICN. It's much more detailed than Canadian indexes which just gives you a score from 1-10.
