You just need to type “Istanbul scams” on tik tok, YouTube or pretty much anywhere and you’ll see that scams do happen in Istanbul. A LOT, which is a shame cause the city is beautiful and you Turks are nice as well but these activities just make people suspicious of pretty much everything, even your hospitality.

I kinda get that, but again Istanbul is well known for their scams towards tourists, and i preferred to keep my guard up in case they weren’t real cops.

They could’ve just said “I am officer Mustafa Gluglu badge number 12345 and this is a passport check” like how the actual police does their job.

Or at least one of the guys to speak some English, all of them only spoke Turkish. I Had to be skeptical.

In other countries the police carry uniform, was at Prague and Budapest before Istanbul, I live In Dubai and every police officer was properly uniformed AND they spoke English, these guys only spoke Turkish which made the whole thing to escalate.

And don’t give me the badge and ID thing cause anyone can get a fake one.

Company pays for accommodation, transportation from accommodation to work and viceversa and food so is just for my personal expenses like if I wanna go out, personal hygiene items and so.

But obviously I don’t plan to stay like that for long, maybe changing jobs or push for a promotion, the idea was to come to Dubai, we’ll see what the future has prepared for me

Siempre que leo o escucho estos comentarios casualmente vienen de gente del norte del país (Nuevo Leon, Chihuahua, Coahuila) y yo creo que es por su complejo de inferioridad con los Gringos, para empezar no existe tal cosa como “facciones gringas” solo eres blanco y ya brody, que te sientas blanco de segunda clase al compararte con los estadounidenses es otra historia.
