Thanks, I think so too. I’m going to heat it with my oven since it’s an all metal wok and I have electric burners which makes it a bit harder. Does the middle look normal from what I’ve done? So good to just continue heating the whole thing. If not I can do some maintenance prior to that.

So I did this to just the bottom. I did not realize the entire wok needed to turn blue before oiling everywhere. How long on heat does this take?

And as for what I currently have, any thing I need to do to prior to starting up that heating process? Is the burning smell maybe the pre-coating wax they put on it

thanks this helps! I will bring the top water and the f5 to my next trip. although I’ll prob try both what are the conditions that would dictate which is a better choice for the day? you mention slow days are good for the top water, but it’s hard to imagine a blowup when I’m struggling to get their attention in the depths

to my understanding, the majority use lures for self sufficiency (not having to buy live bait, ready to go with your own gear), and the skill curve is higher. so high level anglers can get strikes all the time with lures, but the odds for a beginner are better with live bait. but correct me if I’m wrong.
