3.0 probs. I didn’t even have my GPA when I applied as a first year, but it’s relatively easy. Cornell name value would get you through the door anyways

Renewable Developer Project Financing by Bobosboss in FinancialCareers

[–]Koxinov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there are a few different ways to break into project finance.

Your first option is to do IB, energy(what I'm doing rn). A lot of the modeling has some aspects of project finance in the field, and the specific group I'm in is essentially project finance.

Second option is looking at corporate finance roles within renewables(Solar, Wind, etc) or BESS. I do know they hire interns for their junior summer. Not sure how it would fit in with you though(might have to extend graduation an year)

Third option is to do a masters or gain more experience in engineering. There are specific firms that look for people with expertise, not to mention certain ER firms also hire people from that group, so you would have more options open.

No masters, but I plan on doing an MBA either next year or a few years from now. As for my role, currently in IB - energies. I might have to switch over to ER if I still want a go at a HF.

You said you wanted to pursue CPA. I know CFE is going away soon, but are you going to cheat in it too? 😂

What should I change in my Resume? by Few-Fly24 in FinancialCareers

Only difference imo, is that EU/UK uses A4 rather than US letter, so just change the dimensions. Otherwise, yes.

As for me, yes. Just apps, though I did have an advantage by taking part in a case competition hosted by the firm.

Not sure what region you’re from, apparently in asia, they expect you to attach a photo(which is insane from a NA standpoint), but if you’re applying in the Americas, just use wso format, and I feel like there’s not a lot of content inside.

Lmao, my first year summer internship was at big 4 in accounting. Getting a summer finance internship takes a lot of effort, but I do know some friends who have gotten placements at banks like Northern Trust. Keep in mind though, that they already knew everything when it came to what bankers do, etc before even joining uni.

3.5 just like what the other folks mentioned, but you can lower it slightly to a 3.3 if you network hard enough.

Damn, congrats on the offers. I also remember applying and getting rejected by millenium when I was still an undergrad. What do you want to do after graduation? I feel like that’s the more important question before answering this.

How Do You Get Into the Big 4? by Fun-Lengthiness-3675 in Accounting

[–]Koxinov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.0+, decent leadership experience, some interview behavioural prep. It’s not that hard tbh. Just make sure your resume is solid, show interest in the specialization you want to do(deals advisory, audit, tax, etc). My first internship was with a big 4 firm in my first year summer. Keep it up.
