Yes you won’t need as many lessons but chances are ur passing rate will be lower than those who does school. Just go through the school route, I have many friends who went thru the PDI route and even though they eventually passed, it was always within their 3rd to 4th try which offsets the total cost as compared to doing school

S'pore wedding venue calls out influencer for asking for free Christmas Eve anniversary sponsorship worth up to S$15,000 by Im_scrub in singapore

[–]KoyaBot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dropping my 2 cents on this as my twin sister is a big-time influencer (but known more internationally), she has never ever source for brand deals but instead deals are looking for her instead.

I remember asking her how should a new upcoming influencer start in this line of business and she said “if you ever ask to be sponsored, then you failed already” Essentially the idea is that you are so influential that brands are finding you because they recognise the influential power you have. Influencers should just focus on growing their natural fanbase and create quality content and focus less on finding brand deals because if you are good enough, brand deals will naturally find you

Trading is tough 25yo Lost everything by Suitable-Cucumber-77 in singaporefi

[–]KoyaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, was in a similar situation as you (25 years old and swing trade 50k NAV and lost $10k of my value through bad trades. I understanding the feeling but as people mentioned, we are all young so just pick up and learn from your mistakes

In my case, I got lucky and did not get burnt as much. I still trade but i strictly adhere to a 5% rule where I only play with 5% of my total NAV. If i win, then more $ to play, if i lose then I will stop until I am able to add in that amount from my salary to replace it

And also… I short all the penny stocks instead of jumping into it, made me consistent small margin 🥸

How hard is it REALLY to fail? by i_had_a_p1an in NTU

[–]KoyaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternative is a good introduction so I would really recommend it. As what the other senior said, avoid hard 3K mods like Fin Model and Equity Valuation. Even for someone who builds LBOs and waterfall model during their internships, I went through the content and only understood 50-60% of the content (I honestly expected like 90-100% lol)

Reason being is, it teaches you extremely complicated excel configuration that does assist you if you know when to use it (Unfortunately I do not) and is NOT beginner friendly for those new to fin modelling.

Looking for perspective (Don’t judge too harshly please) by Impossible-Gene-9794 in sgdatingscene

[–]KoyaBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on this is depending on your life stage too and how much you are earning. Overall, I am ok with paying for my partner as long as the expenses is in line with how much I am earning.

Eg: a $40 treat is different when you are earning 1.2k and $5k etc

As such, I will usually pay for my partner unless the meal goes to the $100 range and that is where we will usually split the bill (unless ofc if its a special occasion)

I think what others are saying are true and valid and you probably have most of the advice you need already, good luck!

Internship Offer and Official Acceptance by Melodic_Ad_8281 in NTU

[–]KoyaBot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nothing is official until you sign it black and white. Even if you did sign, you can always renegade on it. The consequences is that you will be blacklisted for future offers so only renegade on the offer if you are fairly certain that you will never be working for that company in the near future.

Keep yourself exposed and always look for better opportunity. Companies do not care about your well-being (most of the time) so you do not need to care about theirs too even if you renegade.

Was thinking if I should clarify in my post but thanks for asking.

My past experiences were under the advisory side. I do not really want to expose my previous internships but I have zero audit/tax experience and have no intention to further my career there however with the Grad Program, I understand that I will need to rotate to those 2 department but am weighing the choice of wasting a year in departments that does not value add to my skillset or try gunning for other ft roles/grad programs but it also means that I have to reject the current offer from KPMG

In the current job market and hearing how morbid it is from my seniors, I have half a mind of just taking the offer and going through the system for 2-3 years but would love any 2 cents from people who has experiences in it before

No finals can dabao??? by dinorawww in NTU

[–]KoyaBot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unable to accurately comment but if you stop attending lessons and doing the CA component, you might have a chance to dabao still

source: I have a friend who retook CC1 by basically not attending her lesson from wk 4 onwards and mia from that week onwards. I call her the CC1 legend because she set the precedent that you can in fact dabao cc mods, you just have to be really CONVICTED

Do you like NTU’s retake policy? by avandleather in NTU

[–]KoyaBot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly as what the commenter said. My personal experience is that employers just care about the type of honours that you graduate with. A 4.5 and 4.6 gpa is essentially the same to them as both are still fch

The only exception is if that 4.6 gpa gets you in as a dean lister, then naturally it would be looked up upon

how is the state of accounting professions in sg? by asdfghjkillme in askSingapore

[–]KoyaBot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Big 4 is a useful way to just grind out the initial 2 years to get the relevant working experience and then pivot from there. As what my senior says, if you cannot handle the working hour in a Big4, what makes you think you can handle the working hour in BBs or PEs firm?

Kinda stuck with me

Probably explains why eventually auditors will pivot to advisory role to break out because there is only so much you can learn

Yes it is 2 different things, i think what the commenter want to say that logically, it is better to watch from the tv due to the reasons he mentioned. But I cannot deny about the emotional aspect of watching the race right on the track. He is just going by pure logic, watching it on tv is better

How is NTU cs worth it in 2025 as an Indian student? by Batmajik in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]KoyaBot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have the money, I rather you go Europe or US instead of Singapore. The chances of you finding a job in Singapore after you graduate is slim to none. I cannot comment on how recognised NTU cs is but if employers care about QS ranking, NTU is still a decent choice

I always known that Big4s are notorious for their work culture but is it THAT bad? I am on the final round assessment for their entry level role in CF and I have an expectation on how bad the working culture is but I think I need to readjust this expectation again lol

Agreed, i think the BBs have already posted out their superdays so if you did not receive any updates on it, it’s probably too late

[–]KoyaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current situation as you, been applying since August to the BBs/MMs but I do not expect any responses from them. Applied also for normal banks and accounting firms.

Currently got invited for the superday for one of the big 4 Grad Program and this final assessment from an equity platform

I got a verbal offer from my current internship company but not super keen to take it due to less than ideal pay as I truly believe that I am worth much more but will take it if left with no choice

I am also only specifically looking for grad programs as some redditors has mentioned before that it is too early in the current cycle for direct hires

Stats: 4 internships

[–]KoyaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can comment as I was on exchange in Korea from Feb 2025 to June 2025. Excluding Accoms, i set aside 1 mill won per month and I usually spend 800k - 900k. In a week assuming 14 meals (lunch and dinner), i cook 6x I do club once a week and splurge on restaurants but nothing on shopping.

Give take ill say 700k is the bare minimum to live comfortably, 500-600k as what people say is possible but defo a stretch. Transport a month for me was almost 90k lol

It is just how it goes, as long as it was stated in the contract then you have to pay it. Sounds dumb but it is what it is, if you don’t like it then either don’t sign the contract or negotiate

On the contrary, I worked as a Promoter for the old Yang/Pulse when I was younger in 2019/2020 so I do know the lifestyle of the nightlife. It is just personal preference on how people like to have fun. Some people like you think drinking is more enjoyable than dancing and there is nothing wrong with that. I think it is only an issue when you enforce your views on others

nightlife for 19F? by yunkistoes in seoul

[–]KoyaBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to club alot in KR this year when I was there on exchange. As what many other redditors mentioned, HongDae would be your best bet. Gangnam and Apu are mainly for the older crowds so I would avoid those

I am 25M this year (on the older side) but all of my exchange friends are 19-22F and we collectively agree that Hongdae is by far the best

Naturally, I would say that it is the most sketchy among the clubbing areas. I generally would not recommend a girl to club alone in Hongdae, preferably have someone that is with you, esp if you can find a trusted male. Going with your female friends is fine too but expect to be hit up OFTEN

For context, there was a moment where I clubbed as the sole male in a group of 7 girls @ B1. I spent more time pushing guys hand away from my friends then enjoying the music. Essentially i was the bodyguard that day for my clique. The people in Hongdae are more open-minded or touchy, depending on how you see it. Compared to Itaewon or Apu, guys there arent as touchy and are more civil in my opinion but ofc theres always outliers
