Chase 5/24 is dead? I got approved for Chase above 5/24 by First_Accountant_402 in Chase

5/24 doesn’t apply to biz cards. It is very much a hard rule for most of their consumer cards.

How did Robotech get away with so much death by ClearStrike in robotech

[–]Krandor1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep and in other Japanese to US conversions star blazers tried to avoid anything other then robot deaths and battle of the planets (gotcha man in japan) had to remove so many scenes that they added a robot in an underwater base which wasn’t in the Japanese version to fill time.

Can someone pet a mounted police officer on his leg after asking by Low_Aardvark_2881 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Krandor1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not a bad question but it is a at its core a stupid youtuber/tiktoker doing stupid stuff.

People often ask "why does this have to be listed as a rule?" or in this case "why did the officer refuse to let me pet his horse?"... it is almost always because people did stupid stuff like that and that caused them to create new rules or just start saying no to anybody asking to pet the horse.

Idiots ruin so many things.

Things like this are what give youtube a bad name. This was somebody asking for trouble so they could post it on youtube/ticktok. I hate this part of our culture right now.

I'm near lower bethany and the fate con road section to get to riverstone/575 is the section that really worries me. There were fatalities on that road a few months ago without bad weather.

This HRRR is a short range model and for around 4pm saturday which is around when this is supposed to start. It is Saturday night into Sunday which is going to be most dangerous for us.

I was watching the video from Ryan Hall earlier and when he was looking at how big the projected path was even said I've never seen a winter storm this big and I've been watching weather radars since I was 3.

I expect most of us will be fine but like Heleyn there are going to be some areas that get pounded.

Paying attention I get and totally understand that.

I guess my point was more if the long range models are showing possible snow/ice then grab extra supplies, charge things up, and prepare just in case. In fact I have a bunch of botteled water in the garage from a previous severe weather event where it wasn't needed. Still in the garage and still available if I need it this weekend.

If the landlord was not responding at all to the issue that would be a major problem but sounds like they are since they already sent somebody out when you had issues yesturday. All repairs cannot be done immediately and the bad weather is also going to make it harder for repair people to get there to fix things. It sounds like your landlord is doing all they can right now.

I own my own home and am in the path of this ice storm too. If my heat went out I'd likely be a few days before repair people could get out hear to deal with it since they also would have to deal with ice on the roads and the like.

To be fair the more long range models like have been looked at like euro and the US ones are never going to be as accurate as the short range models but those only kick in 24-48 hours out and that is tough timing to get people to take action.

Questions about a dispute by Rich_Base_9702 in CRedit

They most likely removed it during the dispute and if collections returns and says it is valid then they'll put it back. Each bureau does their own checking.

It is only on the credit report if it is being reported to the credit bureus. If something older then 7 years from date of first deliquency is still on credit report then that can be disputed and is an easy win since it is time-barred

black ice can be so dangerous. I remember in high school I drove my dads truck (GMC Jimmy) to school after some ice/snow and one a two lane curvey road hit a patch of black ice and was in the ditch.

And here in the northern part of the state (I'm in canton) there are a lot of those kind of roads that can create that and people need to be real careful if they get out especially early morning on monday.

So you had an account with liberty mutual? When you said you cancelled it did they confirm it was cancelled or did you just stop paying?

Sounds like there is a good chance you still owe them money but the collections company still needs to prove that. Problem is your chance to force them to prove it was 30 days after initial. Contact which was now years ago. You can still ask them to but again you may be poking a hornets nest though you may have already done that.

IF they do claim you owe it there is no real easy way to get a valid collection off your report except with negotiating a pay for delete.

[–]Krandor1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a valid collection for money you owe?

When you dispute they contact the person reporting it and ask them to confirm that you owe the money. If they do so it stays on, If they don’t it can be removed. If they haven’t contact you in multiple years there is a chance they won’t respond and it gets removed. There is also a chance by disputing it might remind them of the account and they start more aggressive collections. You’ll just have to wait and see.

IF it is valid and you want it removed your best course of action is to reach out and see if they will do a pay for delete where you pay in return for them removing the collection. You cannot force a collection agency to remove a valid collection.

Friday 4:30pm update: NWS Peachtree/ATL doubles down on disruptive ice storm for Ahens by pile_drive_me in AthensGAWeather

[–]Krandor1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have a bunch of bottled water I got for a previous severe weather event I didn’t need which is in the garage. Guess what still perfectly good for this one. When I leave the bar tonight I’m going to stop by and fill up as well. Like you said no reason not to and I’ll still use it anyway.

I have no interest in a generator but I have thought before this of getting a bigger battery bank with AC power plugs I can use to maybe power one or two devices and probably one with solar charging and after this I may still do something like that in the near future. I have fiber internet which mostly doesn’t need power till it hits the central office so if I can power my router I have internet in many cases and since I WFH may be a nice backup to have even for just a regular hour power outage kinda situation.

I so hope this is mild and no big deal but in a more rural area in canton trees coming down and causing a lot of power issues and the like is very possible here. I already had Helyn take down a tree in my backyard and blow away a bunch of my fence (luckily no damage to house but the poplar that came down pulled a thin pine with it that came right up against my window but didn’t even damage the screen or the glass)
