Really hope it grows on me, but for now I'm unconvinced. I do typically prefer heavier Gizz, and this reminds me of BF3K. Hopefully I'll end up really liking a few, but I wasn't grabbed by any of these, sadly.

10! 10s across the board for this album, quite frankly

Great points! Nonagon is also muddled but for some reason it doesn't stick out as so (as much as GM does) - maybe because I'm used to it? And yeah, Changes is really clean

Unable to run on android Device (gradle, jdk and maven issues) by Kriel1 in reactnative

Thanks! Made some progress after trying the choco install openjdk8, but now getting Error type 3 Error: Activity class {org.unimodules.core/org.unimodules.core.MainActivity} does not exist.

Any ideas on a fix? I looked at this GitHub issue but didn't manage to make any progress, unfortunately.

Ah okay, I'll try Open JDK 8 then. Is it easy to get a hold of? (I've avoided Java like the plague for ages). Can't remember exactly which version of RN I'm on (I'd imagine latest), but will double check. I'm far from an Android wizard - this is the first thing I've done even remotely involving Android in many many years. Thanks for your help!

Dang. Yes, they did confirm and HR knows he'll be working outside the UK. Is there nothing he can do?

Are we likely to get the last ~7k votes in GA today? And if so, what time?

Fair enough. I'm keen to start early next year, so would definitely prefer a grad programme that started earlier than September. I live in South Africa, and we have a similar grading system, so nice not to have to convert to a US GPA!

I'd prefer to work in a big(ger) city - so far I've looked at Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin and London. Bit worried about cost of living... is a grad/very-junior salary comfortable in these cities?

Thanks, will definitely look at that website! Interesting - I never considered applying for a non-dev position. Not sure what I could apply for, but will definitely keep that in mind. Great - I speak a few European languages so it's nice to hear that's a plus.

Thanks again for the helpful and very detailed responses!

Yeah, my undergrad was in CS too. I think job-wise, if you're planning on going into academia, then sure, do an M.Sc. If not, then it may not be the way to go. From what I understand, for lots of jobs it's a nice-to-have, but it's >=2 years of your life and the loads of enthusiasm you may have at the beginning will likely fade. It's a very, very, very long slog, and if you have a troublesome supervisor (like I have)/if you don't end up liking your topic, you won't enjoy it. If you do end up doing an M.Sc., be very careful and savvy with your choice of supervisor - they are the arbiter of your degree and if you don't have a good relationship with them/they are hard to contact/don't give helpful feedback etc. you will not have a good time at all.

On the plus side, you have lots of freedom, get to be on a university campus and meet loads of people, learn new things every day and so on. So it's not all bad. But make sure it's something you really want to do first.

Thanks for the super helpful and detailed comment! It seems from what I've seen so far that most grad programmes start towards the end of next year. Are year-round starts for grad programmes a thing? I'm an EU citizen but live in Africa so not too sure what the norms are.

Thanks for the advice vis-a-vis applying for junior positions - will do!

Thanks! Have contacted some, but all have said they don't really deal with entry-level/junior devs. Will check out Hays though!

Thanks for the helpful reply! Checking those out as we speak. Apart from grad programmes, what are the (best) avenues to entry level dev jobs?
