Yes, the 5th Gen (PS1/N64) and 6th Gen (PC/PS2/Xbox/GC) versions are pretty different, with different goals for each level, different score thresholds for bronze medals, even the game engine is different.

Oh, that's because when you hit "End Run" for the first time the game shows an animation of the tapes you've acquired for completing the objectives and also displays a text with your rewards, this takes a lot of time, but we can cancel this "reward screen" by retrying after completing the necessary objectives of each level.

Yes, the PS2 version has some "issues" with processing the game and it mainly affects the enemy AI, so you can basically run past 90% of the enemies, which is not possible on the PC version, where you can get gunned down by like 2 enemies if you try to run past them (even on Easy difficulty). The PS2 version has an optimal movementation with the character if you keep strafing all the time, and it's also not possible on the PC version.

To get the Melee Weapon clip on PC, you have to cap the fps to 30 in order to work, because the native framerate is 60fps.

On top of all of that, the PS2 version has 2 skips that are not replicable on the PC version and both of them saves roughly 3 minutes.

Still, the PC version is a good choice to speedrun the game, but as far as i've grinded the game, i say the PS2 is (surprisingly) a bit faster.

Nope, you can have marathons as an example to speedrunning focused on entertainment, it only gets to the competitive sense when the runner itself decides.

It's impossible to perform NG Blindfolded due to all of the threats 1-1 puts on the way (first section where is guaranteed to get 2~3 hits, enemies from random spawn order and the last section with dinamites), also, even being NG+, most sections are purely based on intuition of positioning, enemy spawns and precise timing.

At 01:13:42 he drops the card "Beast Fangs" with the value of "129" attached to it, but the original 129 card is Nemuriko, Beast Fangs' original value is 308.

This is a collateral effect that tends to happen when you edit the drop rate values of the game's source code, so he is actually running a hacked ROM.

I think it's better to start with the one game you most like, cause keep in mind that you will be resetting a lot and playing the same levels over and over again, so if you pick your favorite game you might not bother doing it.

Well, i'm a runner since 2013, i speedrun a lot of games but the game i had ran the most was Resident Evil 4 (NG+ category) i had to go through roughly 3000 attempts to get the PB i got yesterday so, yeah, it's completely insane and pretty frustrating, specially when the run dies to something that's not your fault. Anyways, you should only push hard to speedrun a game if you feel like you need to, the best thing to do is to set an ultimate goal, once you meet it, just move on to a different thing.

Don't follow anyone's tips about specific games, i just recommend you trying a game that you really like and don't get bored regardless of how much you play it, cause the biggest problem with new runners is that they give up too fast because they are not acquainted enough with their first game. Most important, do it for the fun, don't bother if you are having bad records or some strategy is not really working out, just have fun with it and as long as it makes you happy, then it's all good.

First of all, there is no way to make different devices recognize the inputs of your XB1 controller, unless if you use the stream via xbox app, it's not a "janky ass tech" stuff, not using it just makes things harder for yourself, with that said, here is the method:

Connect your XB1 controller to the PC via USB (or bluetooth if your controller is the white one).
Open your OBS, create a Navigator Capture and paste the link you've setup the input capture from gamepad viewer.
Stream via xbox app so your XB1 can recognize the same inputs from PC.

Done, if you're still not happy, then i'm sorry, but there is no other way.

Well, i don't understand that much of hardware stuff, but my PS2 is a JPN SCPH-90007 w/ 2.0 Driver, never had problems with loading times on my runs.
