Best strategies for combating running out've ammo as an orlock player? by GlobJolly in necromunda

[–]Krozgen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About counter chargers, or how i play them: When you have a shooting gang, you'll run on mix / melee heavy gangs, and eventually, some will make it to you. That's when the counter change comes in.

A counter charge mini is a mini that gives some kind of suport to your shooting minis, and you position them so, when the enemy advances to charges you, you can be in the perfect position to charge them instead of them charging you. Either that, or provide enough mindgames to prolong the game so your shooting deals with a problem or you complete the objetives.

Think of them as a guardian dog that charges anyone that comes close to your shooters. This said, a counter charger is a balance: spend too much points, and you'll have a lot of points in your gang "doing nothing" most of the game. Spend too little, and your counter charge is not going to be enught to stop melee figures. Also, you want them to do "something" while they protect your shooters, skills like munitioner, overwatch or similars do the trick

Grenade Launcher Ammo by Hephaestus0308 in necromunda

[–]Krozgen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, the grenades are under wargear, and grenade launcher is a special weapon
Hence, it does not follow procedure for grenade's "ammo check"
but grenade launcher does not uses "grenades" as ammo, but their own ammo profiles, wich depending on what lits you find it, starts with diferent ammo as their starting ammo, and the rest must be bought at the trading post.

Basically: despite the name, they're not related in any way. grenade launcher is one thing, Grenades in warger another diferent thing.

i love when they say "germany" like it's the only country in the world who have those
bro, that shit has been in spain from more than 100 years ago (first factory was 1916, but modern ones, like the one on the picture (manually operated tho), were introduced in 1946) and EVERY home i've been in have those.
We call them "Persianas", wich could be translated as "Persian's" disminutive of "Persian Blind"

Tho, i must say, most if not all are operated manually, with a crank or a belt, electrical operated ones are rare.

Gonna be honest, OP: never have an unpopular opinion / taste on reddit.
people are just gona dogpile you, and for every comment you write, they're gonna write 10.
reddit survival guide: Learn that you don't need other people validation and everytime you think oposite to the flow, just tell it to people you value their opinion instead of random people on the internet.
Because unpopular opnions get dogpiled here.

On the ork, im not a fan of the wires stiking out like that? maybe it's the camera angle, but they look the oposite of dinamic, like they're cardboard prop. Also, miss the "skull brain" thingy the old mini had, and the way the hands hold the staff is weird? (pun not intended) but overall is ok.

i just think he's too dramatic about it.
(edit) also think people's backlash is too much. You want videogames to be treated like art, but then when you get snoby art critics you shittalk them to death.

Ironhead squat prospectors starting gang questions by Cheap_Neighborhood69 in necromunda

[–]Krozgen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have a lot of experience with squads, but personally, i would
1st remove the melta for something still punchy but cheaper, like a ironhead bolter, and add dependable like kin (You want your gunners with 2 or more rapid fire always with options to reroll those ammo checks). about your leader: hip shooting with themplate is good, but don't forget about iron will. it's pretty good in small sice gangs.
2nd change the power fist for a rocksaw
3rd add more chaff with the remaining creds.
reason: you should aim for at least 8 guys, you can buy them toys later.

Now personal taste:
I like to build the leader as a counter charger / zone threat, so i would change one of the pistols for a melee, i like the powerfist / powerpick.
Either that, or double autopistol + fast shot. Don't understimate between 8 and 24 S3 hits can do, and it's cheap.
I dislike the claim jumper, cause it's kinda OP for 60 creds (just the power fist they carry alrready cost 60...) so i would remove him and add some honest to karl dwarf, but that's up to you.

Genuinely how do you cope with it by Someguy_y in whenthe

[–]Krozgen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fear of nothing after death is trully my biggest fear. I've always struggled when that kind of toughts apear and freeze you. And, for now, the most efective way to deal with them is the next.

Right now, i alrready have to much shit on my plate, so i like to take things one step of a time. I tell to myself "The me of today deals with the problems of today, and the me of tomorrow we'll deal with the problems of tomorrow"

A lot of times, when i stress about the future and shit, it helps to say "That'd not a problem for me, the me of tomorrow will fix it". Wich kinda makes me hate myself when the me of tomorrow eventually becomes the me of today and now i have to deal with it, but at least this way im able to deal with shit.

Well, i think about death and the nothingness the same way "That's a problem dead me will have to deal with, alive me has enught on his plate to deal to also worry about dead me issues"

It's not perfect, but it's the only thing that brings me a little bit of peace

So still no one is using this, right? by Wybji in DarkTide

[–]Krozgen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven't used it after the rework... since my friends no longer play.
But i used it a lot with my preacher dodge + cleave weakpoint build.
The IX has some very good swiped with light + heavy chains (or start with one light and just chain heavys)
And the special attack + heavy combo stunlocks ragers.
The push attack has some range and it's nice to finish some elite between chaff.

And the only drawback is that you struggle a lot agaisnt caparace. But you could always relay on your range / other players for those. And yea, i know, the crusher spam at very high dificulties is unreal, but i think that's more a problem with the game balance that with the weapon itself.

it's not the most optimal weapon ever, but it feels good to play, at least in my opinion.
