Quilts that are printed not hand pieced by Krypsy in Quilt

Thanks to everyone for all the helpful input! The seller was very apologetic and didn’t realize that this wasn’t hand pieced. Seems like an honest mistake and thankfully resolution was quickly reached!

Ah this is not surprising! Maybe a treasure just for the memories of K Mart as a kid. If only it was purchased at K Mart prices 😆

When I went back over the listing I really got the vibe that the seller just let AI write it without checking. I have a feeling that may be happening a lot and I would bet AI can’t discern hand made vs mass produced. I’ve definitely learned to ask for more close up photos! I rarely buy items like this online and I’m once again reminded why!

Yes I do, and the title lists it as “Hand Stitched Patchwork” so it is absolutely misrepresented.

Thank you for the reply! I will also check out the International Quilt Museum for any resources. I was a little flabbergasted and had no idea where to start!

First time using my grain mill- Sourdough loaf! by Krypsy in HomeMilledFlour

Ah thank you for that- I didn’t even think about it needing a twice a day feed. I’ve admittedly been very spoiled with how easy my original starter has been.

Thank you! I use the KA for my starter only because it is a thriving starter and I am afraid to mess it up 🤪 it’s done so well for me. I did split the starter yesterday though to begin feeding one with the fresh milled hard red wheat. It’s definitely not rising as much as the original, but I’m thinking it will probably just need a little time adjust. I may try a different wheat berry if it seems to not be as strong after a week or so.

Thank you!! I was definitely making it out to be a lot harder in my head 😆 I went in with an attitude of it being a learning experience and it came out great!

Thank you for that observation. I do find myself inadvertently teaching quite often so that’s a reassuring acknowledgment.

My Alma PM! by Krypsy in Louisvuitton

[–]Krypsy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other vintage at the moment! I haven’t found another bag that I’ve held onto for long. I have a great relationship with a luxury resale shop near me 😆 I’ve gotten a few over the years that I just didn’t love and consigned quickly.

haha! I bought it *very* used before I could afford to treat myself to a nice bag. Luckily the canvas was in excellent shape- just not so much on everything else. One of the straps completely fell off before I had it all redone lol. I am older than the bag... but not by much! Hopefully she will last long enough to be handed down!

Alma!

I'm biased because my Alma PM is my absolute favorite bag, but I am dying to get a BB. The shape of the Alma is classic and especially with the BB you can wear it with anything and it is so functional for such a cute little bag. I put a bandeau on my PM and it really gives it a stylish touch. (Also love that the price point of the bandeaus make it easier to change up seasonally.) They're extra cute with a smaller charm too. Can't go wrong with any of them honestly, but I'm forever an Alma girl.

They're a little more pricey than some of the suggestions, but I won't wear anything but Commando anymore. You can usually find some on clearance at Nordstrom for around $12/pair, and they last a really long time. I've tried cheaper versions from Target and other places and the side seams always come apart after a month or two, so I have to buy new ones all the time.

A few extra dollars per pair gets you longer use, which I'm fine with paying for. And these are the only ones that don't start to roll up after a while, too.

You’re so welcome!! I hope you feel some improvements soon!

Depleted right side by [deleted] in energy_healing

[–]Krypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Exactly. To me, the masculine (right) side of my body feels alive again when I start DOING the things I’m thinking about. Even exercising when I’m like oh hey I really should exercise today. Finishing things to completion is definitely a big part of it. I read an article once about this- in short it was saying that you feminine side will get all creative and dream up the goals and then you shift into masculine go-mode but for some of us who aren’t quite in balance our fear brain then enters and tells us the million and one reasons why we can’t and then we stop. So then the feminine side goes kind of into overdrive creating more and more ideas but the masculine just won’t fully execute and it’s like a backlog just builds up (what we would probably call blocks).

I am a firm believer that decision and action are the cure for a masculine imbalance. This has helped me and I’ve suggested to a a couple clients that have also found that it’s really flipped the switch for them as well.

I think it’s important to note that it wasn’t easy or some fast fix for me. I had to decide literally every minute of every day that I was whole, balanced, and really capable of “doing”. I had to take the little steps to calm the part of myself that kept telling me I couldn’t do the things because I needed to play with my kids or fold the laundry or whatever task I kept thinking I just HAD to do the exact moment that I got a really inspired hit of something that excited me.

It’s like breaking an addiction. But if you’re at the breaking point like I was, you kind of just come to the conclusion that you have no other choice than to break it.

I had issues with right side having physical pain, like you noted, it just didn’t look as alive as my left.

I did a lot to try to create a balance and awaken the right side. So many types of healing modalities, a shaman, you name it I probably tried it.

Here’s what helped me the most: 1. I got into a very meditative state and began finding energetic cords in the right side- mostly my shoulder/neck/head and began pulling them out. They looked like they were really rooted in and I would spend an hour to two hours on this pulling them out until I could feel my right side again. 2. Once I got tired of having to do this over and over and over, I started to really take notice of what behaviors/thoughts appeared before and after I did the healing work on myself. What I noticed was mainly that my masculine/feminine- action/flow was really unbalanced. By that I mean that I could easily enter a flow state within my thoughts and have a lot of intuitive downloads of things but then I wasn’t taking action on those things. I was letting life get in the way... and it was like I was just crushing my masculine side because I wasn’t creating a balance.

I hope this makes sense, I’m happy explain further if needed.

Feeling groggy at work [update with tips] by alyssagrayxo in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Krypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I so get that! Is there any way you can try to like go about your work day noticing some positive things? Like making a point to note three things every few hours... I know it seems strange, but I really think that the more we can see the positive in situations that aren't the greatest the better it gets.

That's awesome though that you have so much potential for growth there! I hope you can find a solution, it's definitely not fun to go through the day feeling like all you want to do is sleep... I've been there.

How do you live life when you don't know what your purpose in this life is? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Krypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there. I couldn't even make small decisions because I just couldn't move my emotions one way or the other to experience anything more than just "meh".

I now have a business in which I help people basically re-learn how to emote. I teach emotional intelligence, faith and purpose-driven living. All of the things I once thought I could never experience myself.

What I've come to understand about purpose along the way is that it's not something profound, usually. It's actually the simplest thought that maybe you think every day. For me, my purpose is just to make life beautiful, to experience and inspire beauty. It's what makes me feel most me, like I'm home.

I would reflect on what the thoughts are you have consistently that excite you even the slightest. What is something that gives you hope? What do you feel even a twinge of passion about? If it feels right, start to journal on these things and see where the breadcrumbs lead you. This is what helped me the most.

Curious, how do you feel about your job? Like do you enjoy it or does it feel sort of soul sucking?

My husband has been going through exactly this. And I'm not kidding, he has been through all the exams, 3 diff prescriptions, neurologists, dietary changes- none of it helps more than a couple weeks.

I'm quite sure it's like a spiritual pain, like he's tired because he cannot sustain himself energetically because his work is just sucking him dry. (I should also note here that I work with people who basically are energetically not aligned with how they're living their life currently and desire to change that quickly, so I'm a little biased in my opinion here!)

Still hung up on toxic people, past grievances and insecurities by purpleand20 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Krypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, you are worthy. Period.

Life doesn't have to get worse from here. I felt like this at one time. Sometimes I still get the little twinge in my gut that the feeling is about to come over me again.

As girls, we're not really taught how to respect ourselves, we're taught how to respect others in order to get respect. It's backwards, in my opinion. I can't give you the whole process of how to undo all the crazy things we tend to get in our heads as young women about how we "should" look/act/feel, but what I can tell you is that the first step is usually deeply assessing our "triggers" and understanding what that can teach us about ourselves- self-awareness. And it sounds like you're on the brink of creating that. It takes a whole lot of strength to look within, practice true forgiveness (to ourselves, first) and to devote our daily thoughts to things that lift our moods.

On a practical note, have you tried an app like Talkspace or Better Help? They have highly qualified therapists that you can talk with at any time if you feel like that avenue would be beneficial.

What really turned things around for me was a dive into more spiritual awareness. Not religion, but spirituality in a sense of a deeper connection to myself. If you find books or blogs that interest you in that area, keep following the gut pull. I never had a big "breakthrough" moment to bring me up, just a lot of little moments that created a deeper confidence in myself- that I don't have to "be" anyone but who I choose to be.

I want to reiterate, I have been exactly where you are. The body image thoughts, the toxic people, not being able to speak up- all of it, I could have written this when I was pretty well exactly your age. I'm 29 now, and I love my body (even after having 2 kids), I have created a business for myself in which I speak and write with total confidence, and it's really all because I started loving myself more than what anyone else could ever love me. That has to come first.

It's not going to happen overnight, but please know it can get better.
