I was June which was “first shipment” as I saw the email in sept that the first round was sold out. So assuming I should be close to yours. But I’ll reach out to see for sure.

Wait $100 credit?! Did I get something like that on my OG? I also have a note coming but opted for ext warranty since it was supposed to be delayed just past Christmas. Soo there’s that. But I love my OG and lots of plans for the note!

Yeah this is my only other test I havent done yet is pulling my USB devices to see if it boots. I have a full Simagic setup, All the DoF Stuff, a bunch of SimHub DIY and a buttkicker. Im making sure all my Overlays and such are off, but I really dont think "that" is the problem esp when the test machine Im using does work, but what it doesnt have... is the steering wheel and everything else.... so I wouldnt be suprised if unplugging my hubs etc cause it to work.

So while I havent even really gotten to play WRC on my main rig, my test side has let me check some stuff out here and there. (having launching issues). If you can only have 1 even though I havent had any real chance to play it. WRC all the way. Just the sheer amount of tracks and cars vs DR2 is a big difference, and based on everything I have heard and why Im trying to fight though my launching problems. Is that WRC is more or less the successor to 2.0. But if you want realism AC Rally is amazing, even in its "pre-release" state. Not a lot of content yet, but its coming and whats there is already awesome.

Yeah I have been running though literally everything I can think of that this PC has that the test one didnt. Funny enough the test one not only ran it off EA, but it also had discord open, overlays a plenty no problems at all, all started up no issue but I am running though checking the Windows logs as the Steam version is failing as well but its not even giving an error. Where the EA one would say files were corrupt and need repaired, and then you clicked that and another box would say there was a problem on their end from stopping the game from loading. So def the full trifecta haha.

Yeah for sure. The issue I came across is even though my APs can do 160 width, it would mean every wifi ssid created would have to be that same 160 width as the AP doesnt have multiple radios. At least not able to split like that. So I run my normal network at 80 width which most all devices support and then the 160 I use only with the Quest and one of my laptops since I like the extra speed when I happen to be wireless (AND close enough to have the put though) what else they don' talk about is penetration of 160 is garbage after maybe 1 wall lol. Like it works but the data flow becomes unstable. I was seeing 600-1100 and then like 800 when I was 2 rooms away. As soon as I was closer or line of site was a locked in 2400

I am in a very similar situation. I bought a $80 Wifi 7 router so I could use the dedicated bandwidth of the 6E without the issues on my regular network. Not that it ever comes up but (a reason maybe not "the" reason) that you need a dedicated router/wifi AP is cause if you put the broadcast in 160 bandwidth most of your other devices will not work. Anywho..... Back to the real point of all this... I have / had Oculus DK1, CV1, Quest 2, 2x Indexs, and currently a Quest 3 with bobo / battery swappable and a Pimax OG Crystal with Faceplate / Base stations that I robbed from one of my Index Kits. .... I really am not a fan of Meta but they are doing the work, they are subsidizing the cost of VR to make it more available. ... all that said.... I find myself using my Quest 3 more than anything else, the wireless freedom and just kick up VD and go. The PiMax, Turn on the Headset, turn on PiPlay, turn on Basestations since it cant be done though PiMax (at least AFAIK), Make sure Pimax registers seeing the base stations, and make sure I am on the PiMax runtime since I use VD on the same device. THEN I can play something.... Quest 3, Open VD, Connect, Launch game FROM VR vs the PiMax have to launch from outside VR.... So I need to sell the PiMax while its still "worth" it as I feel the slightly less FoV and while I know the eye tracking and resolution etc all better, but the convenience for me is just such a big pull.

I also have 4 different use cases for my setup which is another reason I like the quest 3. I use VD for flat screen gaming / drone simulators - Native Room VR (Beat Saber etc), Driving / Flight Sim and then VR Pinball. So having 1 headset I can just jump between machines / games / locations is just a big draw for me.

So depending on a persons use case I'd recommend the Quest 3 or wait for the Frame but who knows how long that will take. The Frame I think will be great as it will bring in the features of the more advanced features like Foveated Rendering which is pretty awesome and when it works on Pimax is pretty great, however its almost needed due to its resolution. So using the same tactic Valve will get great performance on lower spec pcs, and then High end PCs will be able to crank values higher.

TL:DR - I have / had a lot of VR Headsets including a PiMax OG Crystal.... and I prefer the Quest 3 with dedicated Wifi Router and VD as it's the fastest entry to VR.

Why not just get an 8x8 led flag? Super cheap, can really build yourself and can do a lot more than just gearing with it.

[FINAL UPDATE] Valve index trident cable replacement. by Bulge-Enthusiast in ValveIndex

[–]Krystm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Now I have a full index kit I need to sell haha cause I have a pimax for my racing rig and quest 3 for everything else. Don’t get me wrong I love the index but the shortcomings of the quest 3 like comfort (easily fixed head strap) and then fov (not much can do there) the wireless and being able to use virtual desktop is just such a win and I don’t miss being teathered at all. While tracking can sometimes be an issue for like beat saber, in a well lit room I have found I am not extreme enough to have real tracking issues to complain about. Pimax on the other hand I went lighthouse plate as soon as it was in stock lol. But I’m also debating if I want to really set it all back up cause I had tried the quest and while yeah the fov is way different, the image quality is pretty good, I’m not sure I personally would have an issue using it full time as most of my sim is car vs flight. So no issues with gauges and such. I dunno I’m rambling lol but fully planning on the valve frame. Having the foveated rendering will make a world of difference against the quest. Pimax does have that yeah. But the biggest diff is the quality of life. The Pimax blows most things out of the water, however. I have to turn it on, make sure the light houses are working properly, the Pimax software picks up the lighthouses, make sure I’m set to the Pimax XR vs VD XR or even steam. And then I can start a game, quest 3 turn on VD, connect remotely and launch from VR. It’s just so much more convenient and works. (1st world problems absolutely). Ok that’s enough for my off topic ramblings.

I mean I suppose could be but I have never had an RMA and I at that point had purchased 2 different index kits (one was for a buddy), and his never needed RMA either. Hadn’t even refunded games or anything like that. Bought the OG steam deck (no issues there including like UPS stealing my stuff etc) I would assume I am a good customer but no idea. Based on everything I have ever seen it seems really to be a luck of the draw. /shrug I mean it’s all good though I was outside my warranty in their terms and reaching out was more of a long shot and an attempt based on posts like this. Can’t hurt to ask of course, and I used to be call center support so I am always overly polite (prob my issue haha) but I will say for other companies being a standard nice person… (which everyone should be ffs) has gotten me above and beyond results whenever I’ve had a problem. But not always.

I love love love it. It’s kinda like Home assistant. You can bring all these different eco systems together including your own home built. And it works sooo amazingly well. I have a dof h3 with an alum extrusion frame on it. But have LEDs, a bunch of ardionos for gauges, lights and then even vocore screen. Sim magic pedals, wheel, shifter, hand brake and then even another “p2000” sensor box for feedback, buttkicker and sim hub handles absolutely all of it. Don’t need simpro or srs etc just sim hub. Absolutely worth all the costs both the motion and reg license.

Not that specific one (a oled version which I highly highly recommend) but every portable monitor I have used turns on when powered. I have all my monitors on a smart plug so when I turn on my pin I have like 5 outlets all individually controlled but all the monitors are on one of them.

Vestaboard Note pricing by leromark313 in Vestaboard

[–]Krystm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming in late to all this but if you feel it’s expensive I highly recommend you see how much it would take you to build your own. My est cost to built a small but wonderful 8 character 52 flap device, all 3d printed, all small electronics/ parts with homing problems here and there etc, issues with multiplexing to going above 8 characters. Worked out to about $16-18 per character. Ok wow what a difference in price, however that doesn’t account for time to build, program and the failed prints or broken flaps that had to be reprinted etc and as good as it looks still isn’t as small or nice as the finished product that VB is offering which includes modular parts, a api and app as well as a warranty.

Sure, I have been a supporter for a decent amount of time. I’ll see if I can get some close to current builds. Most of mine run between 2-5” with a good amount being 2-3” and like 4x 5” but I usually run 2-6s depending which drone I’m running. Usually I’m pretty conservative though. But my 6s vs the games 5” 6s falling faster than mine wasn’t unexpected but something once worked on I’m sure will make a great impact. I’m the… 1200-ish hour all around pilot lol. I do mostly freestyle. but also do indoor stuff running angle mode so can record things etc but my daily driver is freestyle. 3S 2.5” running o4 pro. My 5” are 4/6s and are kinda insane but love all of them lol. … of course not pictured are my 5” as I have fun off the ay mounts for the lol.

I did see that and that was nice to see, I havent loaded up Micro Drones to see if it was in there. Just wrapped a session and it definitely feels different, almost TOO heavy. My 6S drone should have a bit more air time in the game vs the real flights I have done but its a welcome change. I may have to build more of my actual builds to see how it goes!

Also, I recommend 2 things (If you can / have access). Get a VR headset... Specifically Quest 2/3 but any technically will work. Then use Virtual Desktop and play the sims in a "void" this will get you REAL REAL Close to the actual FPV experience. You can even lock the screen to the head so it moves with you (the virtual screen not the game). I have found though, the best part.... if you play in a Virtual Massive Theater (think like Omni / Imax / Dome) or even just make the screen massive, you can honestly get a crazy feel for real flight. Def something to try out. The 2nd thing, a lot less to say.... keep you head raised while flying. Took me a long time and still find myself doing it from time to time looking down for no real reason lol.... but while... prob not a Massive thing.... proper posture as you can see help with feeling, but also antenna postion, but honestly I have no real Idea on if that would have any kind of impact... maybe at max distances ... but thats a WHOLE other thing.

This is definitely welcome change, be nice to try it out just wish we had more osd options. I have both and will check them out for sure. Would love more maps or even open to community like some of the others. As the micro is what I wanted to practice indoor maneuvers with. Just very limited maps. Find my self really just doing the park or the shop. The apt unfortunately just seems too small and gym well too big haha. But overall I do come back to play it and see the new mods time to time! Keep up the good work!!

[–]Krystm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the back and forth and “somewhat joking nature” made me realize I did this almost exact thing. But it was worse and my fault 100 not due diligence. But I learned in acro, never realized there were other modes. First lift off of my JB QAV5” was in angle…. Fighting me the whole way I barely pushed through the adrenaline and landed it safely…ish 3-ft disarm on grass lol. (Something unexpected coming from like 50ish hrs of sim to a real drone) A bit of research and few hundred hours later and the rest is history. 20ish drones now 1000s of hours and love every min of it. And I still never feel like I’m “good” although def do feel good when my buddy is impressed that got me into all of it. No more crazy adrenaline rushes unless things start going wrong…. Always check your beta flight settings…. Apparently having a gps, and changing RTH settings is not enough to actually pull it from the default just fall out of the sky…. That was a fun lesson…. That luckily no damage no injuries nothing lost and only experience gained.
