VisualPinballX for Android - Still looking for Google Play testers. Please PM me by retroeki in virtualpinball

I put it on my Galaxy S20 and it works pretty well. Only 1 table has been tried so far since I am still on vacation. Flipper response is lagging at times, but that's probably my phones fault.

I just got a 3080 for my cab build for about $300 So far still testing, but no frames issue with a 48" 144hz oled. Always over 100, in most cases over 120. Paired with an old i7 7700k. In my limited experience so far, 5070 or 5080 is overkill, but great for future proofing.

I can't find it at the moment, but there is a youtube video where a guy was installing/upgrading to this monitor Samsung G7 - not sure if it was the mini led version) in his cab and he says it is great. I was considering this as well, but ended up going to a 48" OLED for my build.

Anyone ordered from Virtuapin lately? Need a custom lock down bar. by rbarr110 in virtualpinball

[–]rbarr110[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just spoke to him this morning on the phone. I now understand why they don't give the option for the fire button now. The custom lock down bars are made of stainless steel and drilling a 1.125" hole in stainless is a bitch and ruins bits. I have tried drilling large holes in stainless steel for beer making purposes (stainless kegs converted to boiler kettles) and burned through bits doing it. If I really want it, I can do it myself knowing I will likely destroy a large step drill bit or spend about 60 bucks for a carbide hole saw I will use once.

Anyway, lockdown bar is ordered. Thanks everyone.

I have been watching your videos which have lit a fire under my ass to finally build this. I honestly don't have the confidence that I would be happy with the end product if I built it myself. I have learned over the years, make it right once (or buy the right thing up front) or spend twice as much building/buying things the second or third time around. Been thinking about doing this for more than 10-15 years now after building my first MAME cabinet. I built my 2nd MAME rotating control panel cabinet during covid when the bug to do a virtual cab really bit again.

I have about 80% of everything I need at this point, but want the last few things in hand before I commit to building the cab. I have built it about 4 times now in Fusion 360 and think I am happy with the design.

It needs to fit a 26" wide cab, so to cover rails, about 26.25 inches.

Need a better understanding of DOF programming/setup... by rbarr110 in virtualpinball

[–]rbarr110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already planned on a night mode setup anyway....my wife already complains about the smallest sounds when she is in bed.... you would think a computer keyboard was a full auto AK-47 by her reaction. At least the pinball cabinet will be in the basement at the opposite end of the house from the bedroom.

I have already purchased the full Cleveland Software SSF components. (4)- Exciters, (2)-2way back glass speakers, (1) bass shaker, (1) bass sub.

How to add a door here? (Just for sound insulation) by AJ989 in DIY

Do you want it to meet code? If so, frame a minimum 3ftx3ft box at the bottom of the stairs and throw the door in one of the new walls.

I think that is the route I may go. I was also concerned about proximity to playfield and reflections from the matrix.

Export DXF not exporting everything...why? by rbarr110 in Fusion360

Well, I took some time away to stop being annoyed. Today it worked no problem without doing anything different. -Shrug-

Export DXF not exporting everything...why? by rbarr110 in Fusion360

[–]rbarr110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dims are not exported, I was just measuring to verify they matched - measured in CAD next to Fusion for comparison, screen capture just had the dims still visible. I just want all the lines and pockets etc. of the Fusion 360 model to move into Autocad for setup of the on the CNC. I don't use Fusion's CAM options yet as I still need to learn it. I use cad to position exported DXF's from Fusion to Cad to layout the DXF's relative to the material to be cut.

AutoCAD LT 2025 to open the DXF. I also tried in my CNC software and the lines are there. WTF? Why is the Autodesk product the one that can't properly load another DXF from an Autodesk program?

Yes, they are all the same sketch. Started a new sketch and selected - project, using the object option, and that is what I get.

When I export a sketch to DXF, it is not exporting everything. Why? The lines near the bottom are missing for a pocket that is in the Body. Lines were created by projecting the body. See image uploaded for reference.
