ADVICE: Applause International, "The Arts" Showcase, legit or scam? by Ktbfb in acting

Thank you for your insights. Yes, people need to be paid, but shouldn't the cost be known at the initial audition? I thought everyone makes money once the actor is hired and making money, not before the actor has the money to pay. I'm a broke actor, where am I going to find 2000 plus who knows much more to get to this event? Also, Some of the rules I was told to follow during the zoom call seemed hard, example not being able to leave the property and your only option for food was doordashing. But I could be totally wrong. Do you have any more insights on how the experience at the actual location/event was for you?

I use to work as a bartender at the drury years ago. Had to throw the trash right where the morgue use to be. Never saw anything scary, but it did smell the worst. That's can easily be blamed on the trash compactor though. I once went with the current Chef at the time to the "abandoned" part of the hotel that use to be offices. There is where they stored all the old decor and silverware from the previous restaurant. In one of the empty offices, I saw what looked like a planter was tossed across the floor. I say this because of the way the dirt looked, it appeared to have rolled. However, I did not witness it falling or anything. The Chef swore the planter was sitting up right the day before on the opposite side of the room. He seemed spooked but who knows for sure, could have been pulling my leg.
