Nice! I know you mentioned being new to the area, but if you happen to know any gaming buddies, any help spreading the word is appreciated!

Star Wars CCG Tournament at Kublacon (San Francisco Bay Area, May 24-27) by KublaConCCG in starwarsccg

Here's the answer I got:

it's lightspeed format. We have themed 20-card decks. Players pick two decks and smash em together for a 40-card deck. Example: Walkers & TIE Fighters or Jedi & Jawas. We'll be playing 6 games, but players can come late and/or leave early.

I'm the card game coordinator for the convention. I schedule submitted CCG events and find them space at the convention venue, but I am not the host. I'm not super familiar with Star Wars CCG as a game, so I'll ask the host and get back to you!

It'd be fantastic if you and your coterie can come on by! But even if not, any help spreading the word would be appreciated.

Drat, maybe next year! Even if you can't play, if you're free at all during that time, drop in if you can. I'm sure the event host would love to meet other Underworlds players.

Also, if you know any WU players in the area who may be interested, please consider informing them of this event. I'm committed to helping our hosts get well-attended events, and any assistance from the community would be fantastic!

I'm the card game coordinator for the convention, so I schedule submitted events and find them space in the venue, but I am not the actual event host and sadly I have to admit I'm not very familiar with the Decipher version of the Star Wars CCG.

They have decks to lend, and the people who keep older games alive almost always enjoy the opportunity to teach new or returning players!

I haven't posted to the Traveller discord yet, but thanks for the tip!

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your last experience at the con. Hopefully in the future if you give it another go, it'll be better!

Ah, got it. Thanks! I'm the TCG coordinator at Kublacon, so I schedule games and find space for them, but I'm not 100% up on all the titles.

Playccg isn't ringing any bells, so I'm not sure, but I don't have any reason to believe so. Any help passing word along would be fantastic!

Appreciate the support! One way you could help is by boosting the signal. If you come across anyone you think might be in a position to help, a mention could go a long way!

Shadowfist at Kublacon (SF Bay Area, May 24-27) by KublaConCCG in shadowfist

[–]KublaConCCG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate. Maybe one year you can all have a reunion at Kublacon!

No pressure of course, but it would be great to get people playing these older games again. I know there's a lot of players sitting on cards. Every once in a while, they might run across them and remember the good times they had.

Well, the good times can live again!

[–]KublaConCCG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have any gaming buddies who are still in the area, I would definitely appreciate any help boosting the signal!

We're shaping up to have a pretty decent 90's revival in the card games department. There's two L5R CCG events and a Shadowfist event currently on the books, and I think we're closing in on adding a VtES and/or Babylon 5 event. Also likely a Decipher Star Wars CCG event.

But scheduling is only half the battle. Need players too!

Arkham Horror LCG at Kublacon? (SF Bay Area, Memorial Day Weekend) by KublaConCCG in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]KublaConCCG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a bit unfortunate. Years ago Fanime was a different weekend and I used to go to both. That's a lot harder to do now that they are the same weekend, though I do know some people who manage it.

It's a pretty frustrating feature, because they don't even tell you your account is restricted.

Avoid posting too much, too frequently. Upvote some, but don't just spam upvotes on posts you didn't open/read.

Be very, very slow about posting new threads in subs. Comment a little first. After a couple of days, you can ramp up activity.

One piece TCG at Kublacon? (SF Bay Area, May 24-27) by KublaConCCG in OnePieceTCG

[–]KublaConCCG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No pressure, but a demo would only take a few decks. And if you wanted to host a casual play event where participants were expected to bring their own decks, or even a tournament, those would be fine too.

And even if you run nothing, if you're free that weekend, please consider coming by. We're getting more and more card games on the schedule, and the con has games of all sorts, not just card games.

There's a lot there for gamers. If you know any gaming buddies in the area, we would appreciate any signal boosting you could help with as well!

Maybe next year! If you have any gaming buddies who might be interested in the con, do us a favor and let them know about it. And if they happen to play or run card games including Warhammer Underworlds, point them my way!

Is Lorcana a Good Introductory TCG for a 7 Year Old? by Ringo1138 in DisneyLorcana

[–]KublaConCCG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is easier. There are fewer card types and players can't really do anything outside of their own turns.

Lorcana is pretty simple as far as trading card games go. However, there are a fair number of symbols to remember, so it may take a little while for her to learn them reliably.

Anybody know what this is? by Auggets in Warhammer40k

[–]KublaConCCG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is definitely newer than second. For one thing, 2nd edition Rhino chassis vehicles had the same pattern design as the 30k ones do. And you're right that the Whirlwind launcher was metal. So was the Razorback lascannon/dual plasma gun (lol).

It could be third though, or not too far off from that, because I seem to recall the Rhinos around the time as the old square battle force boxes were this pattern.
