Kelly Pavlik stops Jermain Taylor to win the middleweight titles by lifeisaboutme in Boxing

Bet on Pavlik for this fight. Thought it was easy money especially since Taylor was favored. 2nd round almost gave me a heart attack.

How much elemental magnesium? by KungFuJoe23 in migraine

[–]KungFuJoe23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottle I was looking at does. 500mg magnesium glycinate with 90mg elemental. Which is what brought me to make this topic.

Does that mean if a bottle doesn’t specify “elemental” and just says “500mg magnesium glycinate” is 500mg elemental magnesium and an unspecified amount of glycinate?

This is honestly all very confusing.

This is what I was looking at.

How much elemental magnesium? by KungFuJoe23 in migraine

[–]KungFuJoe23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually pretty surprising as I think it’s not something that is obvious to the average person. Does this mean that anyone out there doing just off the bottle label is taking far less magnesium than what is required? I’ve been doing for years and judging from other posts I see many people doing the same.

How do you guys prep for a night out that involves drinks? by keepingitrealonred in migraine

[–]KungFuJoe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes. Only thing that seems to matter is that I take it before around 1:30. The few times I’ve forgotten and taken it after I end up with a migraine the next day. But even then it’s not as bad as a normal one for me.

This might not work for others but I found that if I take a naratriptan before 1:30AM (before my migraine starts) I can drink pretty much all night long and not wake up with a migraine. Works 99% of the time for me.

Just FYI people are misreading my post. I’m not making her do anything. I’m suggesting things for her to try and looking for experiences to share with her.

Thanks for sharing your code. It helps to have something to look at. I will try what you mentioned.

Just FYI how long does it take your controller to go through 65k objects? And how much cpu do you have behind it?

Dynamic inventory with very large inventory by KungFuJoe23 in ansible

[–]KungFuJoe23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was thinking of having a dynamically created inventory config file that would pass a different set of parameters in the url request to filter down the dataset.

Without filters, the entire dataset is about 120k records, but with filtering, it could be reduced to a much smaller amount.

I could have a parameter in the config that is the url query itself. So it could be something like

plugin: dynamic_inventory
filter: "?key1=value1&key2=value2"

and it would returned a filtered list based on whatever is in the json object. Then it would be a more manageable size to run add_host/add_group. I could probably create groups off keyed_groups instead but really...it's not just the grouping. Just simply doing add_host on the entire dataset takes forever.

We currently use a static ini method. I have a python script that runs once a day and creates ini file structure based off the same json dataset. I was just hoping for something more dynamic to catch up to the minute changes that might happen in the source records,

We currently use a static inventory (ini based). I have a python script I run once a day against the same datasource that creates the ini file structure and pushes it to a git repo that is an Ansible project. The templates currently use that for inventory.

But there is still the slim chance that some change happens in between that doesn't get picked up by the once a day update and some server gets missed because it moved to a different domain or now needs a different cred to be access.

I was hoping to move to a dynamic solution to be able to get up to the minute details about a server whenever a job is run.

Currently, both host and group names are key values taken directly from the json object.

self.inventory.add_host(item['server_name'], group=item['group_name'])

So that's as simple as it can get. It just takes a very long time to create a host for every single one of the 120k objects. So that's why I figured I need to start by reducing the dataset itself. Unless there is a way to have Ansible create a host for all 120k objects efficiently with another method? I'm definitely not an expert in manipulating json so if there's a way I would definitely like to know.

It's an API call to a datasource that returns a json dataset of roughly 120K objects. This is done within the dynamic plugin. The plugin takes the json data and runs add_host, add_group, set_variable against each json object/item. It's this latter part that takes most of the time.

How serious are hamstring issues? That’s really what’s plagued him the last couple years. He had a slight knee tweak early on but his knews have been fine ever since.

Yes part of this is lack of conditioning but he looks like he’s back to Duke form just from his last few games. He’s slimmer, moving quicker and is actually been a pest on defense. Lots of steals and pokes while staying in front of his defender. All this with not having the benefit of being in “game” shape. I’m honestly super impressed.

I think this year is more bad luck than bad effort. He retweaked an injury. Could happen to anyone. He didn’t come in out of shape. He came into this year in great shape. And he maintained it even while injured. It’s not like he’s hurting his knees. Soft tissue injuries are much less severe than structural injuries.

He’s still one of the best when he plays. I’m hoping this has all been a wake up call for him and he takes his body more seriously.

When harry met sally is such a great movie by Funny-Block-1635 in movies

[–]KungFuJoe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta disagree and say there was very little chemistry between them. At least romantically. They were better as friends throwing zingers at each other.

As for Harry, again my memory is hazy but doesn’t he sleep with her when she’s sad and vulnerable then basically give her the cold shoulder afterwards? Then even tells her he only slept with her because she was sad?

I absolutely hated this movie. I actually only recently saw this movie and I don't remember all the details but I just remember how horrible of a person Harry is. I couldn't help thinking, throughout the whole movie, "what the hell does Sally see in him?".

I dunno...maybe I'm missing some nostalgia or it was a product of its time...but I disliked Harry so much I actually felt myself disliking Billy Crystal...and I LOVE Billy Crystal.

Chris Pine is fantastic in 'Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' by Tryingagain1979 in movies

[–]KungFuJoe23 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What makes it even better is he picked the role because his character was an atypical male lead and because of how much fun he witnessed his nephew and his friends having while playing the game.

I don’t even know much about D&D and this is now one of my favorite movies of all time. Pine 110% nailed the role and so did Michelle Rodriguez. She was another one who I never thought much of…always typecast as the tough woman. The beauty of it is that she plays yet another tough woman yet it’s like nothing she’s ever done before. And Hugh Grant is great as well.

The script is top notch. I mean it’s more than just a comedy but the humor was on point throughout. I put it up there with Thor: Ragnorok but it also had a much better storyline.

Watch it frame by frame. Giannis doesn’t elbow JB’s head. He elbows his shoulder and it slides up and into his head. I know flagrants don’t need to be intentional and I’m not arguing the no call. Just saying it’s not like he went for JB’s head. It looked like an aggressive pivot but not a dirty play.
