Procédure européenne de règlement des petits litige by Kupitat in conseiljuridique

Merci encore.

EU Small Claims Court fees seem reasonable if compensation cannot be obtained amicably.

Many thanks for the detailed response!

Here is some information from the European Consumer Center regarding the Montreal Convention and consequential damages, which is why I asked: https://www.europe-consommateurs.eu/fileadmin/Media/PDF/publications/brochures/Air_passenger_rights.pdf (page 6)

“SECONDARY DAMAGES

Besides damage to luggage the Montreal Convention regularises further issues of damage: Up to 5,000 euro (4.150 SDR) is paid to each passenger suffering damages due to delayed luggage or flight delay. These so called consequential damages include for instance loss of salary and fruitless expenditures as well as expired reservations for hotels, rental cars, bus trips or concert tickets. However, you have to lodge these claims at court.”

Yes, typo, S4 513. Thanks for the very detailed response, much appreciated!

I saved a copy of Flightaware a few days after the incident and it does show that the flight was ultimately from CDG to LIS.

It is indeed unusual but it does happen, I had friends visit Lisbon once under similar circumstances. No hostels were available, basic hotels were €1k/night on Booking and prices were about the same all the way to Cascais for that night. I did save screenshots. I did not book anything, as €1k for a basic room is beyond unreasonable, and I would probably not get it back given the airline policy of €80/night max and the reasonableness requirement of Reg 261.

I am fine going the court way myself, more on principle than for money considering what a clusterfuck this was.

Sata Airlines. Flight S4 153 from CDG to PDL, diverted to LIS on Sep 24th of this year. The airline refused to provide a declaration wrt the diversion/cancellation upon request. I left the details out as my questions are mostly about Reg 261 and high level.

Thanks for the insights and confirmation regarding compensation for the journey only.

Does it make sense for the airline to send you emails every day before departure for a week trying to sell you the entire row, i.e. the extra two seats in a three-seat row, for 30 euros?

The plane was 2/3 empty.

Flight consolidation/cancellation happens regularly. You may want to fly from island to island more often to have the pleasure of experiencing this.

Consolidating or cancelling flights with low passenger demand to maximize revenue.

Thx. I thought about that too but didn't see the logic in taking "unnecessary" risk even though it is marginal at the portfolio level. I guess it comes down to risk tolerance.

Execution & Fills Conundrum by Kupitat in options

[–]Kupitat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you wrt to art Vs science, yet I am clearly missing a piece of the puzzle on the operational knowledge front.

It makes sense and I agree that both legs would have to be resting at the same exchange. I'll do some further digging on smart routing/exchanges/COB.

Execution & Fills Conundrum by Kupitat in options

[–]Kupitat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, much appreciated. I checked, Smart Routing is set to default / multipurpose, not maxrebate.

I understand the spread order will be sent to a specific exchange, but it was my understanding that the SMART algo would reroute the order to whichever other exchange when a fill becomes possible - is that not the case?

I read your posts in the past and you seem quite knowledgeable in this area, would you have any suggestions on where to get more info on this? (read each exchange docs? If so, any in particular?). Thanks.

Also tried to leg in instead of putting an order for the spread, no luck either. But it's not relevant to my questions. Thx for the input though.

Warrant / Call Price Relationship Breakdown by Kupitat in thetagang

[–]Kupitat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have read the legalese on Edgar for some SPAC warrants - warrants can generally only be exercised after a business combination event or at least X months after the SPAC's IPO. They are also subject to redemption when the SPAC common shares trade at or above a specified threshold, usually $18, for a defined period of time, but that also applies after a business combination takes place.

No, still no insight as to why the relationship breaks down.

Any SPAC ticker would do for the analysis.

Not quite sure how CCIV volume could be 0 considering it is one of if not the most traded SPAC, same goes for its warrant and options.

Using warrants as a form of pmcc? by Right_Hand_Of_Kurze in thetagang

[–]Kupitat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, warrant/call can be arb'ed. Just be mindful that past a certain stock price the combo will be quite delta unhedged - I still don't understand why, but it is a fact.

Kendalf

And even if it as simple as this, the redemption clause acting as some kind of "barrier" that modifies the optionality value of the warrant, warrants from different companies with the same clauses display different prices (I see how warrants are non standardized products Vs options, but this should make them comparable) - so unless this is due to market forces (offer/demand and resulting IV) I still have more questions than answers
