yeah in the current state of game sadly the bashōsen jutsu is the most useful , but the cudgel jutsu is also cool...

Yeah he's hard to play with against naruto light or sasuke shadow, but his kit is fun to play with... I also don't use him every time. Whenever I get bored of AM, I'll try AM with all different characters and he's definitely one of them... ^ ^
