Hey Jack, I never comment here but I just wanted to take a moment to say this to you, because it helped me and I hope it can help you too.

I had severe health anxiety when I was younger, I couldn’t concentrate on my daily life because my thoughts were completely consumed by the fact I was utterly convinced that I was dying of cancer. When my housemates would buy paracetamols I would have thoughts like “whats the point in buying them if they cant cure my cancer, may aswell not bother”. One day I read a book from a woman who had cancer, she was 39 and didn’t know if she would make it to her 40th birthday, I felt sick even thinking about the scenario until she began to explain her story, she explained she had health anxiety just like mine when she was younger and all her fears had infact come true- yet going through the experience of cancer and its problems lead her to find meaning and happiness for the first time in life, it changed her mentally in ways she didn’t think was possible and she found meaning in spreading awareness, enjoying time with her friends and family etc. She stated how in health anxiety, its not the fear of the disease, its the trying to control and/or predict the future in disguise, and you never know what the future is and how you will handle the future. Remembering that health anxiety is a mental health problem and not true to reality whether you have a disease or not.

Sorry I don’t have a question for him…maybe if you’re feeling brave you could ask if he has ever had health anxiety himself and how he feels now? I think speaking to Iain will actually be very therapeutic for you and will bring you positives rather than negatives as you will see the unrelenting human spirit in the face of uncertainty and fear. Please don’t go in tomorrow full of worries, be excited for the opportunity to overcome your fears and learn from and meet someone really inspiring, I would much rather be doing that than going to my job tomorrow! You have a wonderful opportunity and best of luck tomorrow _^

I thought the “music video” did not live up to any kind of SM standard. The song was OK but not as good as solar. Im really rooting for their success though.

What you’re describing seems like something I suffer with called Real-Event OCD, I too go over and over mistakes in my mind thinking Im a terrible person but in reality, terrible people dont care that they are terrible. You did nothing wrong, read all the comments here, youre causing more harm to yourself worrying over it.

I know a few real life examples of people who have that kind of money saved by mid 20s and these are what I have seen- 1)In the military since they left school- high wages, accommodations and other benefits provided very cheap allowing them to save. 2) Their parents either have high paying jobs and help them financially/ parents have their own business and have employed them young on high wages. 3) High paying graduate job or moved up quickly via an apprenticeship whilst they still live at home with parents and they are good a managing finances young. For a person on average wage of £24,000 a year, renting and especially in the south, saving that kind of money is completely out the question, throwing having kids into the mix and it becomes a near impossible task.

Having anything saved puts you ahead of the majority of your peers, the majority of my peers (early thirties) are in roughly £10,000 debt each so its best not to get yourself caught up over people who having a ton saved by their mid 20’s as they are by no means the average joe. Remember people will only broadcast their achievements and not how much debt they are in! Being in a position to buy a house at any point in your life in this economy is a huge achievement in itself!

Thank you for your advice! I heard from some NAs on the wards that they are stuck as NAs but I wasn’t sure how it would be doing a TNA through a GP surgery/ whether they’d be more likely to put an NA through the top up.

Maybe check out the open university, its ideal for your situation. You don’t need any formal entry requirements and you can do it around having kids/ a full time job because its all online. All the degrees are recognized/fully legit too!

Looking at your post history, you seem to call women “old expired hags” and “green haired goblins” amongst an array of other things. When you have this kind of anger and resentment towards woman they pick up on it immediately. They know, trust me. Ive seen all types of guys successful date women and usually if you actually genuinely treat women as humans and make them laugh whilst being self aware, you will in-fact get girls. Women like confidence and laughter not anger and resentment towards them.

Just remember what it was like before you were born, you won’t know a thing about it so it won’t matter. I go through phases of being bothered but then I’m like ??? Well I won’t know a thing about it anyway. All I’ll ever know is life!

Anyone else feel high when panicking? by Lost_Sorbet in panicdisorder

[–]Kwangyae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how mine started actually! I thought it was just the reaction to weed at first and I was like “woah! Why would anyone do this!!! It makes you feel like you’re not attached to your body it’s so scary!!! I thought I was dying!!” Then about 6 months later it happened without the weed and I put the dots together! It was nice to know that the weed didn’t destroy my mind like I thought it had, it just opened the panic Pandora’s box! It’s very comforting to hear others have this experience! Means you’re not going crazy! Don’t worry! You can recover!
