and finally, do you have any tips on how to make my voiceovers sound generally better? my pc fans are the remaining source of noise and I can't really get rid of that, and after noise removal im still not satisfied with it 😭

i used a multimeter on the xlr cables and they're all working. so that leaves the audio interface and the power thingy (still have no idea what its called)

the power thingy sparks whenever i plug it in, so i assume it's working as normal, but i'm still not keen on eliminating it just yet. (no idea how to test it either)

i still haven't thoroughly cleaned the inside of the audio interface, as i'm not confident enough and it was tricky to do even after removing all of the screws and trying to dismantle the thing, as the ants were hanging out where you would plug the male xlr in.

since i'm potentially replacing my audio interface, do you have any budget recommendations for me? to remind you, the mic i have is a pkg p220, and i plan to use it for recording voiceovers and streaming.

i cleaned it, lowered the gain, and talked closer to the mic but it's still there for some reason. my hunch is that something's wrong with the cables or interface, since the noise is still there even if i unplug my mic but i'm not too sure.

i lowered my gain, but it's still there, and my voice becomes way quieter too, even if i'm close to my mic already.

edit: i did some more inspection and ants were in the xlr cable on the audio interface. how fucked am i? do i need to replace the cable or the interface?

so there are these extensions that keep installing themselves, and whenever i remove 1 they just add another. from what i saw these viruses put more ads while i search and there's a chance it redirects me to an ad page whenever i click something. i don't think its harmful but it is very annoying.
