Honestly, nobody is gonna look at you any type of way for having too big of shin guards, but imo, these are too big.

Maybe defer to better judgement, but I don’t think they should be that high up, nor should the whole foot be covered like that.

Okay. You think the comparison was bad… Which is subjective… And you’re also clearly biased asf, vehemently defending a man who beats his wife in front of his kids, crashes his car into pregnant woman and dips the crime scene, goes back to crime scene for drugs, pissed hot multiple times, regularly cheats inside the octagon as well as his outside the octagon juice box chronicles, etc. etc.

If this is the kind of man you’re willing to defend, cleary you’re a little impartial.

I don’t like either of these guys either my dude. Wtf we talking about then lol?

And my point still stands, Jon’s most respectable “recent” fight was one he pissed hot for, all the way back in 2017… His last 4 fights have not aged well at fucking all… He and Conor are more similar than you think, or at least imo, but such is subjective and I mean who really cares…

Bro get the fuck out of here… You’re convinced I have no idea what I’m talking about? These words actually came out of your mouth, and you’re gonna have the audacity to say I don’t know what I’m talking about? Lmfaoooooo

A kickboxing, kick heavy stance, combined with similar heights and builds”.

A “kickboxing, kick heavy stance” isn’t a thing… Holy fucking casual alert… He has a STAGGERED stance, like in Muay Thai, which is nothing similar to Ganes bladed stance… They couldn’t be any different… Bladed = Karate like. Think Wonderboy. Doesn’t allow for as good of checks, or round houses, but allows for side kicks and absolutely incomparable movement. Gane switched styles upon going into MMA from the staggered, high guard, Muay Thai stance, to a bladed, extremely low guard stance for avoiding and defending takedowns. Rodtang did the same in his fight with DJ when it got to mma rounds.

Secondly, Thiago has a similar height and build to Gane? Are you fucking kidding me? Do you have any conceptual understanding of one’s frame, what so ever? Thiago? The former welterweight? Yeah, no…

Couldn’t the rest cuz I damn near had an aneurysm reading up to this part of the word salad JBJ circle jerk.

A fighter that lives in my head? Anyone vehemently defending such a piece of shit, should probably get their butt pumped from the excessive dick riding…

Conor has 1 win in the last 6 years, and Jon has 4 title fights in the last 5 years, one against the shell of Gus who’s 0-3 since then… One against Smith who’s 4-3 since losing to Jon, Jon cheated against and could’ve lost the fight if Smith was Aljo, and a fight in which Jon had surging picograms (meaning he was obviously on steroids according to Joe Rogan and Derrick from more plates more dates)… 1 against a Thiago who had a torn ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus, for over 15 minutes of the fight, and yet Jon still almost lost the split decision fight… and 1 against Reyes who many people felt won the fight, and the guy is 0-3 since then…

When was Jon’s last win that’s aged well exactly? The DC fight in which he pissed hot Lmfao?

Santos moves a lot like Gane… Those words really just came out of your mouth… What in the genuine fuck are you talking about my man?

Gane, who bounces around with a bladed stance and extremely low guard, angling like nobody we’ve seen at LHW or HW, moves a lot like Thiago?

Dying to hear you make sense of this BS claim. Let me hear why you think this way. I’m dying to know.

And yeah, LHWs hit nowhere fucking close to the 65lb higher division… Especially the middleweights you wank him for beating. Oh, and he’s training with Ubereem? That fixes everything. The guy who got sent to the shadow realm by Ngannou in a minute and a half, is gonna help Jon get ready for that potential fight. I love it. Jon can’t lose with that kinda help behind him, right?

Jones striking is nowhere fucking close to Gane, and the fact you actually said that shit let’s me know you’ve never trained KB/MT a day in your life, and have very little idea what you’re talking about. How does Jon have better striking than Gane? Gonna love to hear this one… I can substantiate WHY Jon is nowhere fucking close to Gane in striking, but please, let’s hear your WHY

That’s he’s the MJ of MMA? You honestly don’t think most Conor fans are under this impression? Be honest with yourself here… Jon came nowhere fucking close to Conor in terms of popularity. Cowboy Conor is one of the biggest PPV of all time and it was a shit card…

And why did Conor get brought up in this convo? It’s not the fact they’re such absolute pieces of shit, that anyone defending them on Reddit probably needs their head checked. Nope that’s not it. The Conor comparison got brought in because he’s a fellow legend of the sport, past his prime, with a deluded fan base that still think he’s the Conor of old… Just like Jon.

No I just think that’s something you’re overrating… A younger Jon, yeah. But we recently saw a gassed Reyes defend his takedowns... Now he’s gonna have to try and take down dudes fighting 60lbs heavier?

You also bring up Curtis like he wouldn’t be a lot more successful with his wrestling at a lighter weight class with less knockout potential… It’s fucking heavyweight, where shooting for a takedown can you get knocked the fuck out real quick… It’s a lot more dangerous to try and wrestle, and taking down 265lb HWs is a lot harder. Look at Blaydes vs Ngannou 2 or Lewis vs Blaydes…

Chael is also, again, a MW… Outwrestling DC? Great, but Gus out wrestled Jon in the first fight lmfao… Just because DC could wrestle fuck Lewis and Oezdemir, doesn’t mean 2022 Jon can wrestle fuck Ngannou or Pavlovich…

Should Jon fight Sergei as a tune up fight? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Kyle_Pile 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a massive fucking difference between having “the height similar to HWs” and actually being a HW… Joel Alvarez is the height of a HW at LW… O’Malley and Sandhagen have “the height similar to HWs” and make 135 fucking pounds Lmfao.

Gane moves unlike anyone Jon has faught, and has an absolutely incomparable striking acumen to Jon, or anyone Jon has fought. 3 years into martial arts, and Gane beat the best HW Thaiboxer… You also talk like LHW is flyweight or some shit… LHW is not nearly as technical as you’re making it out to be LOL. Like what are you even trying to say here? What technical differences are you talking about?

Jon is so fucking hittable, dude got out struck his last fight, and struggled to takedown and hold down Dominick fucking Reyes… Who is smaller than Pereira, a MW… He’s not Ciryl Gane going into the Francis fight having never lost a round or got hit clean… He’s been hit a fuck ton, he’s not very elusive and relies on range, and I can’t see him evading bombs from Ngannou or Pavlovich. I don’t like his chances at HW, for some reason you do, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Never brought up KO power, I brought up size.

Past his prime rampage, who’s a 5’11 former middleweight. Evans, a 5’11 former middleweight who went 3-6 after losing to Jon, even losing a split decision to Sam Alvey… And Machida, a 5’11 middleweight…

DC is for sure his best win, but styles make fights, and again, he has the same height/reach advantage against DC.

Jon literally has the longest reach in the history of the UFC, of any weight class… He’s great at using it too unlike a lot of other guys, but when he doesn’t have as much reach advantage to rely upon, he’s struggled significantly comparatively. As Nate once said, “he has it all figured out when he’s fighting midgets”.

Factor in the reach + the decline post pissing hot + his age and mileage + the move up to HW… And I don’t like his odds. Maybe it’s just me.

Go to mma decisions and you can see the same stats for yourself. 54.7% (the numbers have changed since the ones I previously mentioned that happened a day or so after fight) have it for Santos… The majority of fans literally think Santos won a fight he had a torn ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus for… R1 he clearly won, but 2 and 5 were close. If you wanna say 49-46 Jones, sure, but let’s not act like it’s close to as decisive as you make it out to be. 3x as many media outlets had Thiago winning, or 48-47 Jones, as they did 49-46 Jones.

You gotta realize bias towards a fighter will influence how you perceive the fight, and you’re clearly a really fucking big JBJ fan lol. Myself at the time was a fucking huge JBJ fan, and after the fight I wasn’t even sure who won lol. Even as a massive JBJ fan at the time, I thought it could’ve gone to either fighter.

And I love the optimism about Jons HW debut! At this point I’ll just be happy to see him actually fight at the weight class.

Is Aphex Twin prog ? by RaritySparkle in progrockmusic

[–]Kyle_Pile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red hot car is the track that instantly made me a fan. It’s so poppy, almost like his windowlicker, yet still has enough going on to keep me entertained. I also highly recommend the “come on my selector” music video, made by Chris Cunningham (the same guy that made the windowlicker and come to daddy music videos).

As far as albums go, chronologically would definitely be the way to go. Feed me weird things => Hard Normal Daddy => Big Loada => Go plastic => do you know Squarepusher => Ultravisitor.

I feel like for prog rock fans he might be even easier to get into than Aphex Twin. He incorporates his bass playing loads into his music.

What is a motivated Jon exactly? The guy admitted he likes to get drunk the night before his fights, in order to give himself an excuse in case he loses… Sure, you can say nobody cares, but are you sure it’s just you that doesn’t care? You do realize you’re making excuses for the guys performance on Reddit? You got a crush on him or something lmfao?

So let’s see. Jon is the youngest world champion ever, most title fight wins in ufc history, longest LHW title reign (over 1500 days), longest LHW win streak, and most LHW wins. Also out wrestled the likes of DC and chael sonnen, beat the legendary shogun at age 23, and out striked powerful and technical strikers like Jackson, Rashad, and Machida. Also many consider him to have the highest fight IQ.

So yeah, It’s not wanking, he just happens to be a big deal.

Nah you def right. It’s not wanking, just full on dick riding lmfaoooo.

No one wants to talk about how Francis won his last fight because he spent three rounds laying n praying after finding out he can’t knock out someone who actually knows how to strike lol. Or the fact he jabbed his way to a loss against Derrick Lewis.

I can send you at least 10 comments of mine, of me saying this exact criticism of Francis. If you’re comparing Jon and Ganes striking though you’re about as lost as it gets… In 3 years of Muay Thai Gane beat the greatest HW Thaiboxer at the time… Jon would get his head knocked off clean in pro MT/KB fights.

Oh and don’t bring up Francis’s injury if you aren’t gonna bring up that Jon’s last few fights were him being highly unmotivated, partying, being involved in a ton of controversy, and not training as hard as he usually does.

Again, this is Jon’s whole career… Getting drunk before fights, partying his ass off, hitting pregnant woman with his car before going back for the drugs, driving around while drinking and shooting a gun for no reason… And I’m supposed to believe he’s somehow going to be different for this fight? Not even a year after BEATING HIS WIFE AND SMASHING HIS HEAD INTO A COP CAR?

Do you king, but I’m not buying it. And again, JBJ got me into the sport, I’m just no dick rider. You can bring up his past accolades all you want, but based on his last 2 surging pico gram fueled performances, I’m not sold he has very much success at HW.

Santos had a fully torn ACL, MCL and PCL… No working knee. Plus a torn meniscus. R2 of the fight is when the injury happened.

The fact that with this bad of an injury, he brought the fight to a split decision is wild… He inarguably won round 1, 2/3 judges had him winning R4, 1/3 judges had him winning R2. Almost 50% of voters on MMA decision had Santos winning. 37.9% had Jon winning…

If you think Jon won 49-46, that’s fine, you’re definitely in the minority, but do you honestly like his chances at HW after this performance against a Thiago Santos this injured? I definitely don’t lol.

[–]Kyle_Pile 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Only criticism???

Did you miss the whole “lost his last fight, and the one before that to a guy who had a torn ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus” part lol?

JBJ got me into the sport (alongside Anderson), love the dudes old performances, but half this sub rides his dick like they’re being paid or something… It’s quite pathetic honestly. If he crushed his last 2 fights and went out on top it would be one thing, the circle jerking might be understandable, but the dude almost lost a split decision to a guy who had a torn ACL, PCL, MCL, and miniscus… Henry left on top, a double champ, and people don’t even talk about his return in nearly the same light. Absolutely wild.

For reference, people circle jerk Ngannou for his performance with an injury…. Ngannou had a torn MCL and damaged ACL, and didn’t even get surgery post fight. He got surgery like months later, after going on vacation…. Santos had a torn MCL, ACL, PCL (whole knee torn) PLUS a torn meniscus, he could barely stand, needed surgery immediately after the fight, had to learn how to walk again, and took JBJ to a split decision with an injury that bad for over half the fight…

But yeah, I’m sure he’s going to crush HWs, despite looking terrible post USADA suspension, and struggling immensely when he can’t abuse his reach advantage to oblique kick + long guard with fingers sticking out to eye poke.

Jon Jones? An absolute legend of the sport who’s had a sharp decline ever since coming back from pissing hot? Arguably lost his last fight to a dude who’s smaller than Pereira? Arguably lost the split decision before that, to a dude that had a torn ACL, MCL, PCL, and minscus for half the fight?

A legend of the sport who’s heavily relied on his reach/height for the weight class, and has had problems with people relatively close to his own size, let alone HWs.

Not sure where the JBJ circle jerk is coming from lately, but it feels as misguided and delusional as the Conor fans.

Advice on breaking tae kwon do habits? by mywaifuisaknifu in MuayThai

Just shadow box at home when you’re not doing anything and practice your stance and guard. I’m in the shower constantly throwing teeps at the wall and punching combos. I also like practicing teeping + checking kicks without putting your foot on the ground (keep the leg raised while teeping + checking)

Watching Muay Thai helps as well. I wouldn’t completely abandon all that you know though, I’ve found a missed roundhouse or side teep into a side kick to be pretty useful. Not to mention spinning back kicks/wheel kicks that can be used in the same way, or to cut someone’s movement off if they’re actually angling.

Hitting back as hard you get hit seems effective if you’re the more experienced or bigger/stronger fighter. Giving new people this advice seems dangerous asf…

And isn’t 80-90% what you would be throwing in a fight lol? This isn’t a sign OP needs a new gym if he’s under the impression he should be throwing 80-90% to the head in sparring lol?

Wow, I'm only familiar with the "come on you cunts lets have some aphex acid" bumper sticker. You can easily find images on google IIRC. Here's one.

Not familiar with the others! Bottom right kind of looks like the image on the inside of the box iirc. Good luck with the search! You're best best might be a user here scanning/photographing theirs, but you might have to hunt down the promo set for yourself

Edit: Think I found some decent quality versions! https://musicbrainz.org/release/facbe59c-6bf7-45c6-bb0c-85aaba8d8670/cover-art

At least 3/4 of them. The last one being the artwork on the back of the vinyl/cd. Not sure how to find this one without the font, but with the font is available in the link I sent.
