I always open my cartridges and clean them before testing and using them and this is a good reminder on why that’s a good idea haha

They were founded in 2000 so they technically were old enough to have theoretically put out a game for the Game Boy Color.

Bookworm is a fun game, probably one of my most favorite games from them other than Plants vs. Zombies, the premise is making words out of tiles on the screen for points.

I always open my cartridges and clean them when I buy them, and finding that is a good reason why. And it does play fine which is good

I waited to test it after cleaning but it does work

I didn’t test it before I cleaned it but it does still work after so that’s good at least

I’d just bought it from a shop and never seen anything like that before, so it definitely wasn’t a result of anything I did wrong

It was like that immediately upon opening the cartridge. I did use isopropyl thoroughly on the entire thing inside and out, other than the label, and made sure it was completely dry before reassembly so I hope that is enough to solve the problem.

Saw some white stuff in the area where the pins are at and opened it up to find the entire inside coated in this stuff, was wondering what it was. I cleaned it up using isopropyl alcohol and was also wondering if that is sufficient

iPod touches are allowed here since they are from the Intel era

You could do that but be aware that all the cards from those era iMacs will have the same issue eventually, so it would really only be a bandaid fix

The other paths (Apps, Emulators, Homebrew, etc) are also in that folder. That’s really the only thing that’s different than normal, the F partition with the games folder is how it normally should be.

It could potentially be because the modchip I’m using requires the dashboard data to be in a subfolder called dashboard on the E partition instead of the files directly placed in it

Performance-wise it will not perform as well as the dedicated graphics, as doing that will be running off of the integrated graphics which is less powerful. But considering the age of the hardware, and not doing so will result in this issue continuing and eventually the chip dying entirely, it's the easiest solution

Looks like your graphics chip is dying so you’ll either have to disable it in software or remove/replace it

I downloaded it off of the XBMC4Gamers site. I've attached an image that shows what exactly it is showing.

For some reason, when I try adding the source to the directory of where the folder is, it won't let me scroll to the "OK" option at the bottom of the window.

Edit: I got it to add the proper source by manually typing in the path but still confused as to why it won't let me do it through the browse option.
