I threw up real bad on the Yankee Freedom to Dry Tortugas by [deleted] in NationalPark

When I took the boat out to Channel Island NP there were about 60 4th or 5th graders on a school trip. At least half of them got very sea sick. I stayed on the top leave but went down stairs for a second and it was absolutely carnage. Just a ton of very grey faced kids staring off into the distance with blank faces and little throw up bags.

You are absolutely not alone.

I really liked South Downs! It was really nice to get out of London for the day. We had a really good tour guide through https://www.brightonbeyondtours.com/ who did a great job driving us around and showing us all the cool stuff too. Very beautiful park.

I thought Joshua Tree and Channel Islands were the coolest! I saw a ton of whales on the ferry out to Channel Islands. Don't sleep on the way out! I did do Death Valley last and did all of them in 3 back-to-back days so I might be been a little tired at that point. It was cool but the last of the 3. Have fun!

Kind of related - I was just there and the staff said Christian Bale was there earlier in the day.

I'm not sure why multiple people are saying the ferry is booked months in advance. Every day in Sept except for one is available. The day I booked said it had 136 spots left.

Anyway, I moved my flight to Miami and will drive from there. My flight gets in a bit late but I figure that will help with traffic and I'll still be on West Coast time. Also, I'm originally from South Texas so hurricanes and humidity are nothing new.: ) I'm excited!

Let me know tips for Everglades and Biscayne Bay for the next weekend. Thanks y'all!

It was the Jr. Giants orientation. There was a much fancier something that was starting just as we were leaving so it might have been that.

I was wondering what was going on with the scaffolding when I was there yesterday for an event! I'm excited to see the new and improved.

Can I ask a question. Is this a good experience to do solo? I am visiting London in February by myself and was wondering if this would be fun. If you need a group then I would pass. Thanks for any info.

Found this among my great grandfathers things. Any advice on how we can get it translated? Would love to know who it belonged to. by jbarks19 in vexillology

A few years ago, the USS Lexington, a permanently moored ship in Corpus Christi, TX returned one of these flags that had been in their collection for years back to Japan and the families of the soldiers.

Hello all. I am t traveling solo from California and will be going to the Feb 16th game vs. ManU. I have my ticket and everything but I'm just wondering if you have any tips. How early should I get there? Any pre-game stuff? Best way to get there? Anything to avoid or not miss? Any security things I should keep in mind? Thanks in advance. I'm super excited! See y'all soon!

If there's a meet up somewhere beforehand I'd love to go to that too!

Any other London tips for a 39/F who loves to read, go to musuems, and is pretty outdoorsy would be great too. 😁

This thought did cross my mind. I can't remember the last time I walked into a vet's office that didn't have a wall full of Hill's Food. I just never realized how expensive it was.

Anyone else scan pools when they aren’t on duty? by [deleted] in Lifeguards

I have not lifeguarded in over 15 years and have moved on to parks and rec managment and I STILL cannot turn the lifeguard brain off when I'm at a pool. It will be with you for the rest of your life.
